These simple ribbons caused the near destruction of an entire town. And, the ribbons did nothing wrong.
“Where do all those marvelous toys go?!”
“It is just a locket for portraits of loved ones. It is quite old, but I will sell it to you for cheap. ”
Being alligned with Evil does tend to make the afterlife a little less appealing. Unless one can somehow claw their way up the heirarchy immediately, one should be looking towards a long, long, long, time of torture and servitude to greater spirits, before any chance of reincarnation will occur. One of the first things Smart Evil Cultists and Priests learn is how to avoid final death.
“This? It is pretty isn’t it? No it is not new. My mother had it.”
Note From MoonHunter: I finally found the one piece we have been missing from the Garage Sale from Hell thread this entire time. A magic item that every covert Evil Cultist and Demon worshiper must have… a lucky piece.
The crucifix (or insert holy pendant of your good mainstream religion of choice) is fairly old, more elaborate than normal, and would usually only be worn by someone of great piety or a female of some piety.
The ring was an item he was always wearing; innocuous enough that no one would question it. It became his perfect tool of power.
The Signet Ring of the House Malenti (minor noble house) has more than a minor political power associated with it. It “seals the soul” of any it touches (with intent).
This crystal looks like just another babble, like a multifaceted lead glass paperweight found in any stationary store. This hides its sinister purpose
‘I told Sir Ursus not to take the amulet, to leave it be in it’s resting place. But he would not listen. We now trek to his place of hiding to remove the amulet and return it, and to destroy that which Ursus has become. ’

A magic pearl that creates a quantity of drinkable water when sucked upon or stirred about in a liquid.
In a time when magic was more plentiful and times more disturbed with war, these items were created to protect those in power but ultimately used for assassination attempts. A King had five chokers commissioned for his family in time of great need. He paid handsomely for these chokers as they were to keep his family safe if war was brought to their doorstep. One of which was used on the King and his own family.
“To what extent in war when killing the enemy is not enough? When the way you kill is considered for the better, yet seems wrong and bound to threaten the souls of those responsible with damnation? When you kill your enemy but use their spirits to infiltrate their old homes only to kill more of their kin. There is a saying, treat your friends and family with love, but treat your enemy with compassion.
What is left sacred, when humans can murder our kin and parade around in our homes looking like us? For that, let the mountains fall on their spirits and deny them passage to the Hidden Valley I tell you, there is no compassion in what they do. This is not war, it is mass murder. The Gods will cry before this is finished.”

A curious ring, it seems to effect the sanity of a person when worn.
An extremely shiny piece of bling, so big and amazing that it inspires anyone who sees it to ask questions about its origins, the bearer, and most anything else they can think of.

This beautiful amber charm has changed the fate of empires, saved towns in the past, caused romances…and left a trail of damaged and destroyed minds in it’s wake. The one who would use it’s power should be prepared to pay a heavy price…
Why go to all trouble of applying makeup, when a few simply cantrips can produce much better results in a fraction of the time?
These little beetles have heads at both ends of their bodies. This allows them to feed on leaves at twice the rate of their normal cousins, causing great damage to crops. They look like ladybugs more than actual beetles, but have no wings. They have a funny way of moving if one stops to watch them, as both heads seem to vie for picking the direction at any given time. Their favorite nourishment is sugar cane. After feasting on these for some time, they develop short bursts of frenetic energy, and can be seen racing back and forth without purpose, which looks quite comical to onlookers. They are otherwise normal bugs. Of course the pc's might not know that.
