The Festival and Its Book By: MoonHunter

The modern definition of festival has four parts: 1. a day or time of religious or other celebration, marked by feasting, ceremonies, or other observances: the festival of Christmas; a Roman festival. 2. a periodic commemoration, anniversary, or celebration: an annual strawberry festival. 3. a period or program of festive activities, cultural events, or entertainment: a music festival. 4. gaiety; revelry; merrymaking. In the later eras of the European Rennaissance (early modern) there was an additional meaning; 5. The Wastes By: MoonHunter

The Wastes can be beautiful. Here the land is toxic: slowly corrosive to the touch, causing illness and death with prolonged contact. The bubbling sulfur and ectomass pools (HellPits too) are especially lovely, if you have the right aesthetic. The soil is soft and any heavy object slowly sinks. If it was not for the special resources here (dyes, alchemical elements, resins, Grimrock, Verner glands, etc), it would be a place that no one would come.

Soul Disks By: MoonHunter

"Okay, I didn't like Thanger", I thought, "He was a punta of epic proportions, but nobody deserved to die like that." These thoughts were crowding out the screaming in the back of my head that we were all still in danger if we did not move.

I saw Peeth kneel down besides the biggest chunk of remains, where the heart was. He reached in under his leathers and pulled out a piece of jade on a simple chain. He placed it on the remains reverently. It was fitting, Thanger died stepping in to protect Peeth.

"He needs this more than I do. Maybe it will keep him out of The Hells."

Monk's Spade By: MoonHunter

In the north west provinces, the locals used an odd design for their shovels. The blade part is a flat 12' (30 cm) cast iron half circle with a small extension in the back to facilitate mounting on the handles. Like many farming items, they were adapted to be used as weapons by those who had them and had no others.

Ocadian Desert By: MoonHunter

The Ocadian Desert is a desolate place. The spirit of the land has been crushed, changing the region from a series of islands with evergreen forests and animals in a shallow sea, to one of the most inhospitable places on the Sphere.

While magic if full of odd associations, some are quite "pun-ish". By accident or on purpose, slips of the tongue are there.

A Bag of Beautiful Coyns By: MoonHunter

Many years ago, a trader from far away died while in The City. One of the entries of his possessions was a "bag of 220 beautiful coyns". These coins were sold to a crafter who sold some of them and made others into hat band decorations, jewelry, bag clips, and so on. It was years later that someone discovered their true worth and their power. They make things move.

The Breakfast of Champions By: MoonHunter

Every culture has a different idea of what constitute's breakfast. Even regions inside the same culture can vary quite a bit (like grits with hot sauce in Texas or Fishcake mix in omelets in New Hampshire). What do they consider 'food' first thing in the morning in your space?

Merideth the Great By: MoonHunter

This powerful and ruthless legendary leader amassed an army of Beastmen and mercenaries conquering most of The Six Lands. His rule was ruthless, treating the people of the lands as slaves. He took the resources he needed for his campaigns without regard for the 'sheep' left behind. He oppressed the people for nearly two decades before being overthrown by the Six Armies who march as One and the Sleeping King.

Swords. Why does it always have to be swords? By: MoonHunter

Excalibur. Stormbringer. Sting. I blame fantasy authors and history professionals that have over simplified things for this preoccupation with swords.

The Mayor By: MoonHunter

A mayor (from the Latin mâior, meaning "greater") is a modern title used in many countries for the highest ranking officer in a municipal government. In some places The Mayor is the Chief Executive running the city. In others, they are a ceremonial official. No matter what they really are, mayors tend to reflect their cities, and their cities and city administrations tend to reflect them.
