In time long past the Citadel was new and innocent. As the years went on much was added to include the ability to vote and comment. Ever since then there has been prosperous periods where the votes and comments were just a tool and the Horde was happy. But subtle battles raged, sides were taken and votes were interpreted as acts of aggression. Much dread and drama followed these battles and authors were lost. So was birthed the Law of the Hammer.

Awhile ago I started a small list of random villages...I think many turned out to be plots, but thought I would throw them out here for fun.

The crown of King Lorin has been stolen! Upon leaving the city the players are searched and the crown is found in their possession. They plead their innocence and are given a task, that task leads to another, and to another?

A long forgotten and abandoned mine has been recently rediscovered by a local village.

On the outskirts of a poor looking village is a large mausoleum that is well kept and richly deserted. It has a marble walkway and bricked windows with beautiful ironwork adorning it. For grave robbers the look of the outside tells of untold riches on the inside.

A very ornate and very old looking spell book. Chock full of spells, most of which are unreadable by any magic user. The ones that can be read, unfortunately, don't have the affect the mage is looking for.

Because of this the culture believes in a death walk for those that are getting near natural death, whether it be from oldness or some kind of terminal sickness. They are to leave the home and go through the Death Gate into the Sullen woods where they spend the last days of their life. Once they pass through Death Gate they are never allowed to return. But having a death gate in your own backyard may create more problems then it solves.

Treasure is both the bane and boon of gaming campaigns. The purpose of all this was to bring up some more obvious, but often overlooked, types of treasure. The focus too often is on gold, gems, and magic items when the fun could be enriched by recognizing some awkward, but just as valuable, alternate items. Don’t pass up that ornately carved throne gathering dust in the lair of ogres. Don’t pass up that odd colored flower that your character has never seen. Take it all with you. You never know what you might get for it.

The players unknowingly awaken an ancient army. Viewable by all, yet unseen by the players, people flee in fear of the marching army of spirits on the path to a major walled city. On arriving at the city the players cannot figure out why the gates are closed, the towers are manned and on the defensive - from them...

Hidden above an alcove behind a forgotten waterfall could be one of the last intact temples of a long persecuted religious order dedicated to the worship of their water elemental patron.

Entering a new city there are street urchins, hustlers, con men, kidnappers, thieves and burglars looking to make their day’s prophet. The victim, in many cases the PC, is known as the mark and is the target of whatever kind of hustle they have planned. These hustlers are always on the lookout for easy pickings.

Does your character use the longbow? Here are some ideas to make the use of the longbow more realistic and more fun. It doesn't have to be just another weapon. The longbow is a specialized weapon with many characteristics that make it unique and fun to role play with.

Two adventurers retiring in their prime, or are they really retiring? Set themselves up as proprietors of a Weapnsmithe and a Tavern but still have there fingers deep on the pulse of adventure.

While in a deep forest a fairy will take a liking to one of the players.
