Fort Port started as a military fortification on the mouth of the Antioch River at the Known Sea, three days West of Antioch (the city). Slowly a small community had sprung up around the Fort and its tiny port. After decades of watching for Wapti, the militia was pulled leaving the few River Clanners behind. The Rat Clan took The Fort for their own, making it their clan house. However things were not grand as the farming was poor and the fishing not much better. But, there is always ships along the waters here. A great deal of traffic in and out of the river and along the coast. And so many things seemed to just "fall off" the deck and docks in these waters… finding their way here. And well, someone has to sell them.
With a florish of his sky blue cape, he deposited his delectable bundle on the table. He efficiently began to serve those who where sitting about the table. After the clinking of a few coins, he was gone. It was scene repeated day in and day out around the city, such was the way of the SkyBlue men.
Though he like a bit of the drink, he is the proper organizer for the district.
Avalon is set among the beautiful green rolling hills of the biome. The homes here are right out of a Maxwell Parish or Thomas Kincaide painting, little Tudor styled cottages and a quaint temple. They cluster around the central plaza, which is really just the intersection of three undertravelled Imperial roads (South to Antioch, East to the Villages, NorthEast of GreatRidge road).
This is the Arth component of the Random Villages thread. These are not so random, but the named ones and with a smattering of real randoms
To call TearDrop City a city is to be generous. It is one of the largest collections of SkyFolk on the north part of the east coast of ThirdLand. It gains its name from the TearDrop shaped rock on the natural set of the stone pillars not far off shore.
Avon is the southmost city state in Thirdland, built in a natural protected harbor. The climate there is colder and wetter than most parts of Thirdland, so the buildings are sturdier and more utilitarian than in Amar or Antioch even.
Often called a jewel in the Imperial crown, Amar is one of the most beautiful cities in the Imperium.
Antioch is the most important city on ThirdLand. It is not the “capital”, that is Amar. It is not the “heart”, that is Avon. Antioch is it’s “Center”. It is where things “happen”. Antioch and its’ City State seems to be the “center of the modern universe”.
The measurements on Arth center around The Emperor and the Imperium. The Imperium imposes certain standards upon its subjects to make communication and trade between areas easier. Some of the most important was how much each coin was worth (and its basic size), the common language (imperial-low and high), and a system of measures.
The Worship of Danu has changed over time. Originally, the worship of Danu, was a worship of faith, rather than respect/ miracle. The worshipers were magically transported to Arth, a world of many spirit beings. Upon travelling to Arth, they accepted that there were new and mighty spirits to respect, but continued to worship Danu and the principle of Masque. Now, they have found that the master of masques exists in Arth. Their worship empowers Danu and in turn, he empowers his priests. Most KnownWorlders do not understand why the MaskLanders would worship a mere master. They do not understand the word Masque.

No one finds the Remover of Inconvient Things, The Remover finds you. So be careful about what you whisper in the dark, The Remover may hear it and come.
Two cynical and witty old pentioners watching the world go by and commenting on it.

The Hand is the most important tool in magic. It can be used to trace symbols, focus attention and concentration, and allow for easier manipulation of mystical flows by tying certain actions to similar hand gestures. It is the ultimate tool of civilization.
In Antioch, the Inn and Tavern is an institution. You hit the corner or neighborhood tavern a couple of nights a week, if not every night. You go, eat, drink, socialize.
