Shrinkstools are a powerfully enchanted toadstool, typically found in enchanted forests or other secluded magical locations. Watch your step.

Shrinkstools appear as large pale mushrooms with a stem flecked with specks of various colors. If watched carefully, the flecks will shift colors gradually. At night, the mushrooms give a faint bluish glow. Shrinkstools typically occur in patches of 3d4.

The Shrinkstools have a powerful magic as described by their name. If stepped on or otherwise seriously damaged, they release a blast of magic that will shrink any animal life within 10’ to 1/6 its original size, and 1/12 the weight. The blast generates a distinctive ‘thump’ and this tends to attract nearby carnivores or intelligent species aware of the Shrinkstools effects.

The effects duration range greatly as follows

Die Roll

Second Roll

1d6 Minutes

2d6 Minutes

3d10 Minutes

1d6 hours

2d6 Hours

3d6 Hours

Shrinkstools can be carefully harvested without setting them off, and will retain their ability for four hours without treatment. When processed by folks skilled in Sylvan magics, they will remain potent for several months. In this form they can be used, carefully, as missile weapons, booby traps, or even as entertainment.

Biting into a potent Shrinkstool will trigger its effects.

Update: Something quick to try and get the ball rolling...

A bit of a close homage to Alice in Wonderland, but I think it may still have some value.

Quick, readily usable and a whole lotta fun! Did you draw those mushies yourself?

Fun but still completely usable in a serious dungeon setting. Nice work

This is just way too short, no mention of it being a work in progress though. Could just as easily have been an idea instead.

Nice. These just appeared in my world, but rather than as 'stools' they will become...'shrinking violets'!! I like the monsters attracted part, reminiscent of 'shriekers'. I'd also make a secondary die-roll (with a secondary table) to determine the size one shrinks to.

Short and sweet. I also like the monster attraction part, adds a kind of realism for me.

Seems like something fun to throw at the PCs in a forest and see what happens.

The Iron Ship

       By: valadaar

Perhaps the product of another universe or time, this vessel appears as an early Tall ship, but is made of iron from keel to spar. The sails are a battered canvas but are nearly indestructible, but in truth do little to move the ship - the ship is able to move even with no winds.
The ship is powered by life force, requiring regular sacrifices to ‘charge’. The victims are cast in front of the vessel as it moves, it’s razor sharp bow bisecting them. The ship may initially be missing key components and the ritual to power it would also require research by would-be users.
The ship has no built in weapons aside from the bow, which can easily cut even large wooden ships in twain.
