Blydwyn potion

-----------------------------
-----------------------------
How it works:

The Blydwyn potion causes a reaction in the human body
that enhances senses such as sight and perception, tackling
the nervous system. This is especially useful to archers or
to those who look to travel at night or commit other questionable
night-time activities such as raiding. Some Alchemists are capable
to even make potions that affect reflexes and significantly boosts
sword-wielders abilities.

Several minutes after ingesting the vic-- person, may start
feeling an numbingand tingling within their fingertips.
Hypersensitivity to light is common.

Side-effects from overdose vary, from mild headaches and nausea to
extreme migraine, or blacking out.

Addiction is possible.

Signs of addiction include withdrawal symptoms such as sweating
profusely, headaches, stomach cramps, and blurred vision. The
individual becomes lethargic, and may suffer permanent nerve damage.

Recipe outline

A measure = 500 Grams

2 Half-measures of

*The tail fibers of A Girsh. (rare) http://strolen.com/viewing/6452

1 Measure of:

*Meadow weed
Common

Grows in loam-soiled areas such as the outskirts of
forests, or nearby brooks. A fibrous plant
with thin yellow flowers that blooms during spring.

2 Half measures of:

*Calcassium Clay.
Common

Calcassium Clay does not work well for pottery. When it
becomes removed from its original clay-bed it tends to
crack and become brittle. Its mostly considered useless
by the general populace, save for decorating peoples feet
when passing through marshy areas. It has a distinct
sharp odor. Alchemical studies revealed the clay creates a
potent potion base when combined with meadow weed. It absorbs
other chemicals.

A quarter measure of:

*Deilarion blossom // or union-root
Rare

A plant that no longer grows in the
wild and can only be cultivated artificially. Once having
been nearly extinct due to a wilting disease that affected
only the union-root, a few samples were saved by one diligent Herbalist,
Osrion Deilarion. The plant was named after its savior which gives it
a slightly more flamboyant appeal.Onion-root simply doesn't sound grand.

The union root is a bulbous plant, with small, bristly leaves. Its
distinctly root-like in appearance. It has an extremely bitter taste
to it. Its original name comes from the fact that the plant has a
tendency to make eyes water once cut open. Coupled with its taste, it
has little appeal for eating. Once in a blue moon, the union root
might bloom and produces an assortment of miniature, greenish blossoms.
The petals are extremely delicate, and each unique in its form. Only later
did the union roots unique properties become more apparent
to Alchemists.

A quarter measure of:

*Salt Crystals

Salt Crystals

Pure salt.

one pint of:

*Elderberry wine

-----------------------------

Fermented onion root mixes with meadow-weed to create a
paste like base over an open flame. This has to be done in a
glass jar which will create a center point of heat over the
bottom. The paste has to be stirred continuously, until it
seems to have become congealed and thick.

The Clay and crystals (ground) are then added to the mixture,
which is removed from the heat and left to cool.

The Girsh tail hairs are saturated within elderberry wine for
two hours at the time of addition to the mixture .

Mix together all components and simmer over low heat for two
hours - until the hairs are dissolved. Take care not to overheat,
as it may emit a blackish, brackish cloud of noxious fumes at this
stage.

Remove from heat and leave to cool. The potion maintains an
unpleasant scent.
