You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany...

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany… ," Obiwan (Ben) Kenobi said. Well, I think you can. Everyone has those "dark places" in their world. Post them up and let’s compare.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany…," Obiwan (Ben) Kenobi said. Well, I think you can. Everyone has those "dark places" in their world. Post them up and lets compare.

These posts can by cities/ town, neighborhoods, dimensions, or even whole planets. Let’s see if we can avoid single places like bars and such. Let us also see if we can avoid grossing people out with our submissions.

And, they don’t have to be new.  If there is something on the site right now that works, add it to the scroll or codex as appropriate.

Happy to be cited, but I have no idea if this complimentary or otherwise....
Complimentry. It was an active place of scum and villany. Obviously a place for our heroes to "deal with". Oh wait, your PCs want to hang out there? ooohh.
West Borrough District

Synonymous with poverty…

Fort Port By: MoonHunter
Locations » City » Water

Fort Port started as a military fortification on the mouth of the Antioch River at the Known Sea, three days West of Antioch (the city).  Slowly a small community had sprung up around the Fort and its tiny port.  After decades of watching for Wapti, the militia was pulled leaving the few River Clanners behind. The Rat Clan took The Fort for their own, making it their clan house. However things were not grand as the farming was poor and the fishing not much better. But, there is always ships along the waters here.  A great deal of traffic in and out of the river and along the coast.  And so many things seemed to just "fall off" the deck and docks in these waters… finding their way here. And well, someone has to sell them.

Gaberlunz By: Scrasamax
Locations » Area » Plains

Most cities have long and storied histories, tales of nobles and intrigue, places in cultural, social, or military history. Gaberlunz in one of those places that by various circumstances has avoided any pretense of greatness.

Hardville By: Maggot

‘‘I know where you can find just what you’re looking for. Give me a few days and I’ll get it for you. Trust me, it’s better if I get it for you. The only place in the city that has exactly what you’re looking for is the Hardville ghetto. It’s dangerous for most folk to enter that place unles they know the right people’‘.

Port Reliance By: Ria Hawk
Locations » City » Water

Port Reliance is a squalid little port town, a hive of pirates, murderers, thieves, brigands, and brawlers.  The lowest of the low, the most desperate of sea-farers end up here sooner or later.  Adventurers will fit right in.

The Calm Alleys By: manfred
Locations » Neighborhoods » Any

The Calm Alley, and a few small insignificant streets nearby have always been calm, some would say boring. There are few people in those narrow passages, and no one looks into your eyes as you pass them…

The Dead Dragon By: Scrasamax

A den of mercenaries, murderers, bounty hunters and thieves…

The Dovecote Rookery By: Wulfhere

Nowhere else in the city would you find a place more tragically downtrodden.

The Island and Firth of Crueloar By: axlerowes
Locations » City » Water

A rough town which is haven for outlaws is a staple of all adventuring genres.  In the fantasy genre the town of Crueloar provides places in which you can share a dinner table with a vampire or learn the ways of dark magic.

The Maul By: Ouroboros

The slums of Locastus

The Rotten Bastard By: valadaar
Locations » Establishment » Other

There are scummy dives, and then there is The Rotten Bastard.

The Secret Lair By: Scrasamax
Locations » Establishment » Any

A villain’s lair is more than just a safehouse or stronghold, it can be as much a part of their persona as any powers, henchmen or nefarious plans

West Borrough District By: MoonHunter
Locations » Neighborhoods » Any

The ever present breeze from the water pushed the litter around constantly. The nice black cars and their sharp dressed occupants are sharp contrast to the broken people who live here. The Gloom comes from more than the lack of city lighting. And remember, nobody knowns nothing.

A rich southern landowner once imported hundreds of thousands of spiders and distributed them along his long, tree-lined road. After a couple of days, when the spiders had make an incredible number of webs amongst the rows of trees, he spread fine gold and silver dust on them to create a spectacular shimmering view. (true story) It was for his daughter's wedding day.
