Itching Dust
By: drphluid

Itching dust makes someone or something itch.  It is very distracting and only gets worse until the dust wears out or an antidote is applied.

The itching dust is harvested from a rare form of thistle that grows in the deepest darkest sections of the East.  The dust is fairly rare but a storekeeper can get a dozen or so doses for a pretty hefty price.

Might be a jumping off point for an adventure, but how much call is there for itching dust? Perhaps if there was a national prank day, similar to April's fool, and the priesthood desperatly needed a supply of the powder and other assorted gags to consecrate the day, it could launch a bizzare and silly treasure hunt. Could be a way to appease a chaos god and spare the world from him making an appearance to show the people how to really laugh.

"Let's see. We've braved the dark forest to gather the itching thistles, fought the blue bees to get thier tounge coloring honey, and crawled through the abandoned mines to the the spark stones for the shocking rings, we still need to travel to the Stench Swamp to catch Farting Frogs and then down to the sea to catch some Black Slime Seals to make black soap."

Well, my thought is that this might work interestingly well as an item of use to thieves. Am I right? Honestly, even though it's not really fleshed out, it still CAN be used. After all, just toss a handful at a guard and soon enough afterwards he'll have to stop the chase from sheer agony.

Or it could be set as a trap against intruders. C'mon people, use your brains!

It could be used in a torture chamber.

It's not a bad idea... but, it does exist in real life pretty much... and you need to give way more details to get a higher score.

While travelling near the edge of a forest the air is filled with the wailing of battle horns. Soon a large group of mounted cavalry will gallop by in a panicked rush. Some will spot the party and shout "Flee! Flee for your very lives!" Several minutes later, hundreds of running infantrymen will be spotted. A large group of white clad knights fiercely chanting a battle song is in full pursuit. One of the white knights carries a banner of a white horse on a black background. The horse is rearing under a gold crown, indicating the presence of the Paladin Prince. As the horrified infantrymen struggle to flee into the forest, the zealots charge into their midst and cut them down by the tens and hundreds.
