30 Paranormal Investigations

By:

Boogiemen in modernity.

1. Uranium mine deep in the Canadian Shield. Workers have disappeared, but company wants to keep it hush hush to preserve stock price. The mine has intersected with a cavern where several Ghulas_-_Eaters_of_the_Dead were entombed millennia ago by first-nations shamans. They have been awakened and while unable to fathom the security systems that keep them from simply exiting the mines to cause havoc, they know people and are waiting for a chance to escape.

2. Under the contaminated buildings of Chernobyl, there was secret temple to the Mad Saint Rasputin. The cults rituals and pseudo-scientific efforts yielded a cursed cultsmember who now resembles the The Cutsman in all his horrid glory. He now stalks the irradiated ruin, and a few tourists have gone missing..

3. Greendeath in the suicide park in Japan

4. The knife

When running a new party, get around the question of plot density by having the first discovery to be a deck of fate, or whatever you call it. If you use a real deck, you should definitely stack it to have the desired outcome, which is to curse the party to attract weird things to happen and involve them. This should not be told to the players at the time, so that they won't just up and try to get themselves 'decursed'. Though quite why they would want to is beyond me.
