A slivery crescent blade ending in a sharp barbed hook about two feet long and weighing approximately five pounds this blade seems to glint red when caught by the light at just the right angle. History
This weapon has been around longer than most people realize many of the legends about it and its wielders being forgotten, some lost from time others purposefully removed from history. The oldest legend comes from the first war that split the races apart as the bard tells.

In that long ago war which hovers at the edge of human memory, there was a warrior. His name was Gruon and in the stories that have been past down he was seven foot tall and wide of shoulder. On his face he wore a tangled and gore matted beard as if he would eat from the corpses after a battle. There was a saying ware Gruons wrath lest his most favored weapon leave its sheath a hot tempered man quick to kill his favored weapon said odd for his size was a mere two foot long hooked blade.

In battle he was wild his short blade cleaving and tearing.
There are even tails of the guts and gore clinging to that wicked blade would begin to lash out at Gruons enemies as if they themselves were weapons under his control. It is said that as the war progressed he became more and more obsessed with the gore and pain that his weapon caused, even so much as to murder innocents to gird himself in there entrails and paint himself with their blood. And so it was that his own men murdered him and had him buried with his awful weapon that shone with blood even after the killing was long over.

The story of Gruon ends there but many say that his weapon found its way out of the crypt in the hands of a tomb robber. Now I cannot tell you if this is true or not, but beware a blade that glints crimson in the light for it is a wicked and deadly blade, for the victim and the user.

"I was the only one to make it out of the tavern alive. Shortly after he finished his story the bard whipped a hooked sword out glittering crimson, and proceeded to kill everyone in the tavern. I to my shame fled as fast as I could out the door and down the lain, the tails were true."
