The majestic, draconian riding beasts of Tarran.

Full Description
Standing between one and two meters in height, Sirrush are graceful and proud creatures. Their shoulder blades sprout elongated scales, and their tales are pebbly, contrasting with their otherwise smooth skin. Their necks form a graceful “S” curve, and terminate in boxy feline heads that sport thin, sparse whiskers.

Sirrushi are divided into hundreds of breeds, mostly seperated by the squareness of their shoulders, tail length, height, and color (Though most Sirrushi are a shade of cobalt or sepia.) The most well known is The Tallian Sandrunner, sleek, yet powerful, standing just over two meters and ridden by the fearsome Knights of Grace and Mercy. The Sandrunner is pale green, with white scales and whiskers, the colors of the Tale Empire.

The Second most popular breed is Carrabo’s miniature Sirrush, standing at one meter. The Carrabo has a mottled hide, and is a favorite pet of middle and upper class children, though even some of the poorest families can afford one. The Carrabo has very thin shoulder’s, and it’s back legs are slightly shorter than the front, giving it a comical, elongated appearence. It’s tail is long and thin, while it’s shoulder scales are very small and dull.

The Tunneling Sirrush, a powerful, if short, breed, is used in caravans. Because of it’s broad shoulders and remarkable sense of direction, it is most often used for pulling heavy wagons. A few, generally the pups, are trained to find water, another of their remarkable abilities.

Finally, The Soul Wrecker Sirrushi are an ancient lineage bred by Odhanni Mages for strength and speed. Their Coats are garishly colored, often having atleast 5 hues to an animal. Soul Wreckers are perpetually ravenous and aggressive, no matter how well fed and treated they are.It is not unkown for these Sirrushi to eat their master and/or the rest of the village, leaving them a rare and dangerous commodity.

Additional Information
Sirrushi are Therapsids, the bridge between Mammal and reptile. They are closely related to Kannemeyeriidae, large stocky herbivores, though Sirrushi are now Omnivorous, with a preference for meat, fish in particular. Originally native to to southern Odhannah, bodering the Sea of Lovers, Sirrushi became an integral part of Tallian society during the Burning sun campaign, where Emperor Jerrimon II cut a swath through the Odhanni tribes in a move against Kalmshan.

Sometimes when one can picture something well in your mind one doesn't make a clear description. Based on your descriptions and writing style, I believe this is a good post, but I have a ton of trouble understanding what this creature looks like. I think it has four legs, because the third variant has uneven leg lengths, but that's the first time that became clear. They have smooth skin, but it is scaley - I guess snakes are smooth - is this what you meant? I don't understand what you mean by elongated scales from the shoulder blades - are they sticking out or lying on the skin? I'm picturing something like a short reptilian horse with a long (unproportional) neck and a dog's head, with smooth scales and a bumpy tail.

I like how you talk about different breeds - I think that's really good.
It would be interesting to know more about the temperment.

I think this post could be much better with a very small change in how you describe it... maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand. If you could explain better, I'd recomment/revote.

Thank you for your comments Zylithian, personally I can't think of any way to describe it, and the Image you conjoured up is very similar to my own. I will probably revisit the description later or photoshop something for clarification.

I like this to a point. I to am having trouble finding out what it looks like. Also the Tunneling Surrush, why is is called that if it is used for hauling wagons and searching for water? I was expecting an underground version that has an affinity for the earth and an ability to excavate quickly.

Over all it is a decent post, but it needs work to bring it above my 3.0 mark. I would have given it a 2.5 but it seems you have put forth some effort into it which makes it seem real to a point.

The Tunneling Sirrush digs for water, hence the name.

I like these critters - that they are between mammals and reptiles is a plus for me. I can almost see them in my minds eye.

Good job!

There exists a prestigious academy with a history going back hundreds of years. Graduates are highly skilled and very much sought after for employment. For purely traditional reasons, the academy requires its students to become proficient in a skill or area of knowledge that has no use in the modern world. This could be Ancient Egyptian, an antiquated form of writing such as shorthand, knowledge of building or repairing antique steam engines, programming COBOL, etc. PCs who graduated from this academy must be sure to have this skill in their repertoire.
