7 Unusual and Improvisied Battle Mech Weapons


Not just an Oekaki, but an insomniac one!


Your standard construction device, used as a quik fix to replace missing arm. Some pilots like them so much after using them that they have combat grade ones custom designed


These come in a wide variety. The simplest version is a telephone pole fitted with an armor piercing auto-cannon shell and a primitive detonation device. Only usable by mechs with hands, most commonly given to light mechs in urban combat


Very similar to Spear but fitted with a 155 MM artillery shell. Anti-personnel weapon. As these are much safer to use, far more common than the spear

ZUES' LIGHTNING(.75 Sniper Rifle)

Replaces main gun on light mechs with very long rage telescopic sites and semi automatic anti-personel sniper rifle, also capable of damaging lightly armored vehicles at short range.


Specially fitted flamer, that contains ablative paint. Used offensively to blind sensors and cockpit, used defensively to coat damaged mechs, only for the truly desperate.


Battle glove that delivers both a short range electromagnetic burst but also capable of electrical discharge to damage enemy mechs computers, internal circuitry and the pilot himself. Adds minimal weight to carrying mech.


Mech sized gauntlet with three Short Range Missile 2s fitted to it, capable of punching or very inaccurate short ranged attack, destroys carrying mech's hand. Also called the "Socko" Works better than it sounds.

I get a good Solaris VII vibe off of this. Short, but useful.

Useful for mechs whose normal weaponry is damaged or out of ammo.

Rural Mystery

The PCs are making their way from village to village across a rural hinterland, when they spot a weird sign along a farmstead's fence, with an arrow pointing to the actual farmstead.


If they investigate, a rather sedate local farmer, explains to them that for a mere two coppers, they can witness the show for themselves.

The show involves six ordinary, animated hoes "dancing" on a makeshift stage, as the farmer accompanies them by slapping his thighs to keep the beat, and playing on his flute.

If asked how the trick is accomplished the farmer demurs, not wanting to share his "secret".

"If you can get Old Man Purkiss to tell you how he gets his cows to spout poetry, I'll tell you how I make my hoes dance."

In reality, this minor encounter can lead to the PCs discovering that some localized, magical effect is active in the area. All kinds weird phenomena seem to occur in these parts.

Perhaps the PCs have finally found the ley-line of mana energy that they have been searching for! The party's wizard gets excited.
