7 Underground Rooms

1-Mausoleum 

A Mausoleum holds the remains of the great and the good, and often holds plenty of Funeral Gold and Grave Silver for unscrupulous grave robbers to loot. It might also hold trapped Undead like Bandage Beasts or other kinds of Undead, or somebody might be found accidentally buried alive down here who will be very grateful to be rescued.

2-Dungeon 

Not a dungeon of the kind created by a Dungeon Core but a dungeon that is used to lock people up, typically either to await trial, for debt, for political reasons or whilst awaiting their executions. Those with enough money or who are valuable hostages who cannot be allowed to die, are kept in relative comfort, whilst others who cannot afford to buy comfort are chained to the wall in dark and filthy rooms. Perhaps the PCs need to rescue someone from one of these.

3-Wine Cellar 

Wine is often stored in cellars to improve their flavour. See 30 Wines or Time-Wine for ideas for wines that might be held in this cellar that the PCs might choose to drink- and get drunk on if they make the mistake of drinking too much wine.

4-Storeroom

Sometimes an underground room is just a storeroom for food, weapons, or other items that might or might not be of any use to the PCs.

5-Room of Death 

This is much worse than being in a dungeon. This is a room where enemies of the State or of the local lord are thrown into and left to starve to death, sometimes with water to drag their deaths out for longer, often sharing the room with decaying bodies or skeletons of those condemned to a slow death before them. If the person is not rescued, they will die a horrible death.

6-Treasure Room

Congratulations ! You have found a treasure room with a lot of loot to steal, but it can be booby trapped against theft (See 30 Treasure Traps for examples of the dangers that thieves could face.

7-Rift Entry

You have found an entry to a Rift. Anyone or anything might be down there…giant spiders, dark elves, love feeding changelings, but there might be treasures down there as well. Do the PCs dare go down to see what is there?
