1-Private Parts

Private Parts secretly owns a book of pornography that he takes great pains to hide from the NCOs and officers, particularly Corporal Punishment. He makes a surprising amount of extra money on the side by renting it out to his fellow privates and would be furious if anything bad happens to it. He is a reasonably good and well trained soldier and would put his own life at risk in battle to save his comrades.

2-Corporal Punishment

A very strict disciplinarian, if physical punishment is allowed in the army that he serves in, he will happily use his vine stick or equivalent on the privates if he catches them messing up. If not, he will find other ways to punish them like making them do press ups or sticking them on point duty if they are in battle. If in a long grinding war with no end in sight, he could end up getting fragged or shot by his own side in battle, as he has very few friends in his unit, and a lot of the privates actively hate him, although the hate is mixed with respect for his bravery and military abilities.

3-Sergeant Jump

As a PT instructor, he works at a major military base making sure that the soldiers get fit enough for their military duties. Unlike Corporal Punishment, he only punishes soldiers if he thinks they really deserve it and their guilt is clear, and very few soldiers have a grudge against him. Where most soldiers would fear dying in battle most, what he fears most is being left alive but paralysed. Whilst he pushes the men hard he pushes himself even harder, and has earned the men’s respect because of this.

4- Captain Sensible

This officer listens to and normally follows the advice of his NCO’s, avoids sacrificing the lives of his soldiers in battle, and never asks them to do anything that he would not be willing to do himself. As a result he is a popular officer despite the gulf that exists between officers and ordinary soldiers, and nobody on his own side wants to frag him or shoot him in the back. Instead they would protect him in battle.

5-Major Nuisance

Major Nuisance is unpopular with his men, his NCOs and his junior officers alike because he won’t stop interfering and trying to micromanage their lives both in and out of battle, and someone recently threw a smoke grenade into his tent as a warning. On the plus side, he does make sure his unit is well fed and clothed, so he is not universally hated, but many think of him as a proper pain in the backside.

6-Colonel O’Truth

Colonel O’Truth is in charge of the regiment’s military intelligence, and gets it from scouts, spies, informers and various other sources,  some of them rather unsavoury. There is no hatred of scouts- as they are in uniform, even if captured by the enemy the worst that is likely to happen to them is time in a POW camp, but his spies and informers will be killed if the enemy finds out who they are.

He is also the military liaison with the press in a war zone to tell them what his superiors want him to tell them.

7-General Chaos

General Chaos is all about the unpredictable bits of war, be it scattering caltrops on the streets to destroy the tyres of the enemy, organising ambushes or managing to send the foe the wrong way. He has been very successful at this, but there are dark rumours about alleged war crimes that his soldiers have committed.

And as a bonus 8) General Anna Sthetic

The first woman to become a general in the modern army, she is only a year away from reaching her mandatory retirement age, and has been known to doze off at staff conferences until her aide de camp gently shakes her awake.
