0. The Humble Copper Piece

This is a penny, you get 180 to a pound, and it's worth 1 CP. This will be the basis for the next coins.

1. Copper Link

Copper Links are flattened links and are not collected in loose piles, but are crafted into chains. The individual links retain a slightly lower CP value, equating to about .6 CP per link, but are presented in chains that can be dozens or hundreds of links long. The cultures that use link-based currencies are proficient in making chainmail, and having linked metal garments is a common feature.

2. Copper Ovum

The Ovum is an egg-shaped coin, ovoid rather than round, and slightly thicker on one side. The copper ovum is worth 3-5 CP, generally related to the cost of regular eggs, with the basic idea being a single ovum is worth half a dozen eggs, while a chicken or comparable egg-laying fowl would be 3-5 ovum for the bird. These coins are typically struck with a bird of some sort on one side, and a local figure on the other.

3. Copper Batton

Literally a copper stick roughly the size of four kitchen matches or two and a half inches long and roughly the thickness of a pencil. Battons are a popular currency because they are easy to stack, easy to count, and easy to pack for hauling. They are also unpopular because they have corners, and tear pockets,
and are larger than the typical genre CP. That being said, they average 4 CP in value each.

4. Copper Groat

The Groat is a rectangular coin with beveled edges, one side depicting a sheaf of grain and the other a female figure with strong harvest and brewing motifs. The coin is the first on the list that has a value that exceeds its intrinsic value in weight. By weight, a groat is worth 18-20 CP, but when trading, the coin is valued at 100-125 CP or one SP. Typically a groat is considered a fair trade for a large mug of ale, a basic meal, or stabling an animal for the night. These coins are popular among adventurers, dwarves, and guilds.

5. Copper Great Coin

An ornamental coin of large size, akin to the Aztec gold coins from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, great coins are very ... cinematic. By weight, a great coin is worth about 45 CP and is around four ounces in weight, a beefy coin. The rate of exchange varies, typically being worth more the closer to the country that makes and uses them, and less the more distant they become. In the areas that do use the copper great coin, they are typically worth 200 CP.

6. Copper Kine

The Copper Kine started as 'as much copper as a man could fit inside a cow's horn' and eventually became fixed to the price of a cow. The current incarnation of the copper kine is a curved dagger/horn shaped piece of copper with a loop so it can be carried on a belt or necklace. The surface is marked with appropriate authentications so that a man may use one to purchase a cow from the pastures of the average ranch. Outside of these countries that base their currency on livestock, a kine is worth 300-400 CP, but within those nations, the value is closer to 10 GP by the standard base 10 fantasy metals exchange.

7. Copper Figurine

Copper figurines are created by magic. A coppersmith brings a vessel of molten copper, typically three to four pounds, and will start to pour it out in front of a metal shaper artist who uses Shape Metal and Heat Metal to create intricate and detailed figurines. As they are made with, albeit low level, magic, replicating them is difficult. Copper figurines are generally commissioned at state or higher level, given the expense in making them, and that only a skilled metal shaper can make them. They are made in series, which also increases their value. Within the borders of the state or organization that issued the figures they are worth hundreds of GP, being highly valued, highly sought after, and highly collectible. Most are issued as fundraising operations by a guild, or city, or state. Outside the state of issue they are worth less unless discerning collectors can be found and at worst, are bought by copper weight, between 600 and 800 CP
