1-The Baseball Furies

On the surface, the secretive Baseball Furies are members of many top baseball teams, and a few of them have reached the national level and make millions of dollars legally through their sporting careers. But after dark, in the shadows, many of them put on sinister multicoloured masks and baseball clothes with the Furies word on the back, arm themselves with baseball bats, and go out beating people, robbing people, occasionally killing people, and brawling with rival gangs. Those at the top of their sport are not expected to risk serving a long prison term and are not expected to participate in serious criminal activity, but they are expected to pay dues and support the gang financially. The fact that quite a bit of money that comes into the gang’s coffers is earned legally, makes laundering money remarkably easy, and as they get richer the Furies are branching out into legally buying property too.

2-The Van Dahls

The Van Dahls are not as violent as many other gangs, and their main crime of choice is vandalism, ranging from simple gang tags claiming gang territory to elaborate works of art that are worth money in their own right. They delight in vandalism when it is a challenge to get in to vandalize without getting caught. Many of them do carry knives though, and they will use violence against snitches, blackmailers and those who try to stop them escaping from the scenes of their crimes.

3-The Nancy Drews

The Nancy Drews are more of a private detective agency than a criminal organisation, but they don’t obey the laws that are meant to keep legal agencies of their kind from doing certain things. They illegally tap phones and plant bugs on cars, and they tip off their clients at once with the information that they have gained, which has led to at least one double murder when they told somebody that his wife was cheating on him and he caught her and her boyfriend in the act of cheating on him.

4-The Changelings

Seemingly humans, they bear a small insignia of a changeling on their jackets, and they are indeed Changelings, who feed on love and kidnap people and sapient ponies, fanging and cocooning them to drain their love, and sometimes carrying out other crimes as well. The Baseball Furies hate them after by chance, one of the Changelings took the shape of a very wealthy Baseball Fury when committing a bank robbery, leading to the Fury having to spend a lot of money on lawyers to prove his genuine innocence. A Reveal spell cast on a Changeling will reveal his or her true insectoid form, and will get the caster targeted for murder by the entire Changeling gang.

Every Changeling wants their own non changeling boyfriend or girlfriend, as they can feed in that way without needing to use violence, from the love energy that leaks from their loved one. A lot of their crimes are done so they can spend the stolen money on romance.

5-The Maddens

The Maddens earned that name through acting like mad berserkers in combat. Many of them were berserkers who fought for the king only to be pensioned off when a treaty was signed banning the use of berserkers in war. Some became willing gladiators, others took other jobs, or ended up in prison or homeless on the streets, but some turned to crime and became the Maddens, a gang so fierce that as long as they keep their crimes within their own territories, most other gangs leave them well alone.

6-The 40 Thieves

No prizes for guessing the main crime of choice for this gang. They specialise in shoplifting and other forms of thievery and have carried out plenty of high value robberies.

7-The Grasping Hands

The Grasping Hands are homeless and mostly steal from and attack other homeless people like themselves, although they will happily steal things, particularly food items, from houses if they can get away with it. One of their most important internal gang rules is-no drugs. Since so many homeless people self medicate with drugs, this gives them a major advantage over their fellow homeless people. They hate the Street Cleaners with a passion and will happily murder their members, and the Street Cleaners feel exactly the same way about them.

8-The Iron Hooves

The Iron Hooves are your typical outlaw motorcycle club, and they do what said clubs do-sell illegal drugs and weapons, extort money from businesses, fight over territory, etc. They do have one big difference from other MCs, however-they are a sapient pony club composed of unicorns with unpleasant looking cutie marks, a club patch of two crossed pony hooves with a top and bottom rocker with their club name and territory, and they drive their motorcycles using unicorn magic.

9-The SuperZappers

The SuperZappers are another sapient pony outlaw motorcycle club who are sometimes at peace and sometimes at war with the Iron Hooves. Their club patch is a unicorn riding a bolt of lightning, and they do the same sort of things that the Iron Hooves do.

10-The Johnson County Regulators

This is another group who started off as vigilantes fighting against extremely dangerous criminals, defeated them, didn’t know where to stop and ended up becoming extortionists who were just as bad as the criminals who they banded together to defeat long ago.

11-The Bar Breakers

The Bar Breakers are a prison gang that targets snitches, sex offenders, and any prison officer who gives them a hard time, stabbing them with hand made prison shanks. They control the illegal drugs and illicit mobile phones inside many prisons, and wangle things like extra pillows and prison commissary items for their members, and will escape if they get the chance.

12-Micky’s Mouses

Micky’s Mouses specialise in drugging people’s drinks with Mickey Finns and then robbing them of anything of value that is worth stealing, and operate in various unsavoury taverns and brothels. They avoid targeting known members of the Baseball Furies, after the Furies beat five of them almost to death for drugging one of them and making him miss a very important baseball game.

13-The Men in Black

Robbers, extortionists and violent football hooligans, many of them with racist and fascist sympathies, the black shirt is their symbol, and they are never happier then when robbing, fighting, murdering or doing something nasty. They do have some standards however, leaving young children and very old people alone.

14-The Medics

The Medics are hired by all the gangs of the area for medical services and charge the same flat fee. Be it treating a wound caused in a gang fight that would be reported to the police if it was treated in hospital, or keeping a kidnap victim from dying, the Medics, who all have medical training, are very useful for their skills and their discretion, and can pass through all gang territories without being killed or injured.

15-The Executioners

The Executioners are a gang that is more secretive then most, as it operates within the police department, and it's victims are mostly people who have been arrested and are tortured into confessing to serious crimes which in many cases they didn't in fact do.

16-The Free Mages

The Free Mages are a gang of magic users who learned magic without going through the proper legal channels, and whilst there are certainly many criminals amongst their ranks, the crime that they are most known for is the illegal teaching of magic, both of outright illegal and dangerous magic and of magic that is legal when taught in magical universities. For the right price they will teach any spell to anyone, even necromancy.

17-The Anarchists

They hate the class system and the status quo, and justify their crimes to themselves as a fight against the government that they despise although it does not stop them personally profiting from said crimes.

18-The Robin Hoods

The Robin Hoods very much like carrying out daring raids on the rich, the richer the better, and unusually, they secretly donate a tenth of the proceeds of each raid to charity. Once they came to the aid of a poor widow and her young children when she was about to be made homeless by paying her mortgage, and they then robbed back the money before the person with it could reach his bank vault.

19-The Toffs

The Toffs are a gang of very rich young men who are not interested in robbing anyone as they are too rich to need to do that, but what they are into is serious violence and often outright murder of those who they consider to be beneath them in the social order and class system. Their legally owned wealth, and their friends in very high places, makes it very difficult to legally bring them to justice. They greatly dislike the Robin Hoods and the Anarchists, who dislike them just as much.

20-The Awful Lawfulls

When they first formed out of desperation, they were the good guys, and they took on and destroyed a criminal gang whose extortion demands had been getting completely over the top, lynching their members and stringing them up. They then went after other bad guys, but somewhere along the line they started targeting only slightly bad guys and then anyone who they just didn’t like, turning into the bad guys that they had been fighting, because they just didn’t know when to stop.

21-The Dragons

The Dragons are a gang of- literally dragons, each the size of Smaug, who extort food and treasure from villages and even large towns and cities by burning the places down if they refuse their demands.

22-The Big Ears

They work as spies within other gangs, betraying secrets and manipulating them into conflict with law enforcement and each other, so that they can take advantage of the chaos to take territory for themselves once the feuding gangs have destroyed each other or been hauled off by the police and jailed. As one can imagine they are detested by all the other gangs who will happily murder them on sight if they are discovered.

23-The Dark Helmets

The Dark Helmets are a gang of armed robbers who wear black motorcycle helmets with dark visors to hide their identities from their victims while they are committing their crimes. They leave the small businesses alone, as there is not a lot of money to rob compared to the big businesses such as large corporations and large jewellery shops. They never leave one of their members behind to get captured by the police.Loyalty means a lot to them.

24-The Street Cleaners

The Street Cleaners gave their gang this name because most of their crimes are committed against the homeless and other undesirable people, who they murder to “clean the streets “ often by holding them down and giving them unwanted “hot shots” of pure uncut heroin so that it looks like they died of drug overdoses. As many of their victims are indeed genuine drug addicts, and all of them are poor, it is rare for murder investigations to be launched against them. They will murder average people to silence witnesses or if their leaders have personal grudges against them, but otherwise they only target the poor. Many of them are shopkeepers who got fed up with the shoplifting and other crimes done by the homeless.

25-The Royalists

In the distant past a dynasty was overthrown and the strongest supporters of the defeated dynasty formed a gang who wanted to restore it to power. As time went by however they turned to crime for profit and for its own sake, rather than for political purposes. They have a crown tattooed on their inner elbow so that they can identify themselves to different chapters of their own gang.

26-Ma-O’s Marauders

Ma-O’s Marauders are believers in Ma-O the Water Deamon  and their robberies and other crimes are all about impressing their God and helping His cult prosper and survive.

27-The Golden Tongues

The Golden Tongues rarely commit crimes, directly, but they sell information to and help out other gangs that do. They get jobs in big companies and for the right price they leak passwords, leave doors open to let robbers enter buildings, act as inside men and women, and help the Kaas scam their bosses.

28-The Armourers

The Armourers are named that because they specialise in providing illegal weapons to other criminals, be it guns, swords, knives or other weapons depending on the laws of the country they are in. To get a weapon one pays two fees, one to hire the weapon and one as a deposit. If the weapon is used, the weapon is kept and the expensive deposit is kept. No one wants to hire a weapon that has been used in multiple murders, which might lead to an unlucky robber being charged with multiple murders that he or she didn’t commit and knows nothing about.

29-The Kaas

The Kaas are conmen, conwomen and swindlers who prefer where possible to use trickery rather than violence. They sell fake permits, fake potions, property that does not legally belong to them, and carry out various other scams, some of them truly ingenious. They and the Golden Tongues are allied with each other.

30-Harry’s Highwaymen

More then thirty strong in size and led by someone known as Harry, they are well armed robbers and muggers who prey upon those who use the highways.
