Order of the Wheel

Life is nothing more than a turn of the gaming wheel. Since “Fortune Serves the Bold,” the world should serve the members of this organization.

These are the consummate gamblers, with the wealth and power to gamble anything. They gamble upon the mundane: races and such. They gamble on the exotic (who can pick up a given girl first). They sponsor illegal bloodsports to fill their jaded time. They bet on the price of wheat for a harvest time (then send minion out to make sure their price is the correct one through sabotage, intimidation, and thwarting of other Order Members). They will set up situations and then have people bet upon the outcome. (Given some forged evidence, two street gangs (or two countries) are set to go to war. They bet upon the outcome (and take advantage of their knowledge of the situation). So while most are gamblers who love the thrill of the bet, some of the upper members are master manipulators as well.

Another incomplete post. Why would gamblers create a political organization? I know several and they can hardly manage themselves, and are a far cry from organization of any kind. The bit about the manipulators IS credible though and I think you should play fully upon that theme if you choose to revise this post.

These are not your riverboat gamblers. These are not your Vegas crowd. These are extremely rich and powerful gamblers. They are nobles. They are merchants. They are kings. They have the money to burn (and the ability to make more).

These are your Skulls, Your New Men, your Trilateral Commission, your Round Table, those of wealth and power, who play these kinds of games because they can. And other people are their pawns to their own greed, ambition, and huberis.

Eyes Wide Shut shows a perfect example of such an organization, though they are more about debachery rather than politics, at least in the movie's story.

They are a political organization because these are the only people who can gamble at this level.

I mean who else would have the ability and money to gamble on these things, and the ability to create minion to act upon them.

If you don't like the coding, can you find another one for a group of people who start wars to see who will win?

With the new comment, which I think should be added to the description, I have changed my vote. I would also have removed the challenge, but I cannot, and I urge everyone to vote "leave it be". It is now a complete post that is not illogical now that MH has expanded and explained it.

Removing a challenge should be an option! MH showed dedication here. That should be rewarded in several ways.

Now it is a solid setting "society club" of sorts, where the rich rub other rich peoples' backs. Gotta have those.

I am sorry, I thought the kind of person who would of been in such an order would of been implicit.

My wondering, is why did you challange a 2.5 rated post? We still have dozens of 2s and less that can and should and eventually will be challanged.

Is this the Strolen version of "the Spielberg Effect"?

I nominated it because it was a 2.5 post from you. You are our Grand Master of RPGs and I cannot envision any of your posts below 3.0. If they are they need work per definition and you were too quick in posting them.

Have a large room that elevates either up or down when triggering a trap. The floor can bring the players to new levels, where a mighty beast roams, or the floor flattens the players into the ceiling or drop into a pit of lava.
