Lava Spirit Plate
By: chilled

Raging heat boiled across the room as the daemon began to manifest, slowly at first but geting faster. The orcs cowered in fear as they watched this terrifying display of sheer power.

Full Item Description
A Laquered suit of deep, flame red plate armour. Harder than the hardest steel this armour offers more protection than most. The engravings on the breastplate depict a large daemon wreathed in flame and holding a double handed great axe.

History

Magic/Cursed Properties
This armour does not have any penalties to movement that normal plate armour would.
In addition to this it ca also be worn by spellcasters of any sort and does not hinder their spellcasting.
Inside the breastplate resides the spirit of a miner daemonic entity that has reverted to the good cause of the world, this daemon can be summoned by saying the command word (Karonar), upon saying the command word the daemon will be unleashed from the breastplate in a swirling vortex of flame, and slowly begins to mainfest until it resembles a great towering giant made of flame, and wielding a great two-handed great sword. this daemon fights on the command of it\‘s master. It has very little weaknesses and is immune to non-magical weapons, though it is vulnerable to some runic weapons and magic weapons. When the battle is finished the daemon returns back into the breastplate.
There is however a price, the daemon draws on the power of it\‘s bearers life force, and unless the bearer drinks at least one bottle of a strong spirit or ale a day then he becomes a little weaker, this penalty ceases to apply as soon as the bearer gets a drink. Spellcasters can wear this armour without this penalty but they get another in it\‘s place, the daemon feeds on the magical energy surrounding them.(without some form of sustainment it will eventually consume its bearer) This does not happen if the bearer is not wearing the armour.

In nature, for instance, a rhino has flies and ticks etc, that live on the hide and live off the blood. Rhino will visit and lie in ponds where turtles will clean the underwater portion of the ticks and a species of bird will clean the the top of ticks and other parasites. What if where the characters camp there were a species of animals that lived off wounds of the creatures. PCs camp. Anybody with wounds on there body are soon covered with small rodent - insect - shadows - whatever. Would immediately see it as a threat I would imagine. But perhaps one of the wounded didn't wake up when it happened, and when they did finally wake they were completely healed. Perhaps somebody was warned of something attacking them but they were able to notice that the wound was actually getting smaller instead of larger. Or maybe they successfully beat the creatures off them and don't notice an improvement, marking this place never to rest at ever again....later learn that villagers send their wounded there but they keep it a guarded secret because they don't want all the attention or traffic and what comes with such a special gift. Could turn into something more too if characters decide to start blabbing about it.
