Haio-Mano (Shark tooth weapons)

By:

Haio-Mano means “A shark’s lei”. These Ankorillian weapons are particularly effective and devastating.

Full Item Description
Literally meaning “A shark’s lei,” these Ankorillian weapons are particularly effective and devastating. They are fashioned in many shapes and sizes. Some Haio-Mano’s are designed for use as daggers, some are more club-like and others are strictly designed for cutting and slashing. Haio-Mano’s are made utilizing one to many shark’s teeth. The teeth is usually attached to wood, but could be affixed to bone (human or animal), cordage, turtle shell or other materials. The teeth are secured by lacing, pegging or sewing.

The Haio-Mano, combined with other weapons such as a bone dagger, provided its owner with additional stabbing and slashing features. The cutting and tearing effects of the very sharp teeth of the shark, makes the Mano a very formidable close combat weapon

Magic/Cursed Properties
Given the right rituals, one can invoke the Shark Spirits. This could give one supernatural abilities, if one believes the legends.

One of those many simple but useful ideas.

I like the idea of a weapon imbued with the spirit of a shark. Might be interesting if my players went against some kind of shark spirt barbarian that fights like a shark. Circling and charging, maybe biting one of them.

An interesting start, but this sub feels rather unfinished.

It is a mundane weapon. There is no mythical origin. There is no history. There is no magic directly associated with them. There are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of these floating around. What else do you need to add?

Did you even check the links?

After reviewing the Code of Conduct, I've removed a post which was more emotional then this one

Given the amount of work that goes into a lot of individual submissions, this one seems short.

Things to add? Plot ideas for example, an NPC noteworthy for using the weapon, whatever.

What constitutes a 2.5 vote or 3.0 vote, or whatever is subjective to the voter. Based on feedback I've seen on other posts, and my own, I have an idea as to what I consider to be in the different ranges. I have seen posts with multiple scroll entries which were as complete and longer that have not recieved high marks. I think that this weapon description is more appropriate as a scroll entry for Ankorillian weaponry then as a complete sub.

Short but still usable. Although, I agree with Valadaar that I would like to see some plot ideas and maybe an NPC or two that are tied with these kinds of weapons.

A large river that is continuously covered in a thick layer of fog. There will be either a rope ferry to get across or possibly a boat that is rowed across by worshippers of the water elementals. It is very thick fog to the point where it even muffles voices even at close range and visibility even beyond a foot is almost impossible.
