Powi fighting net

A simple net made of strong jute, this otherwise innocous looking object when combined with the amazing Ahal paste used by the tribsemen of the Powi, can be a serious threat to any warrior who finds himself menaced with this traditional Powi wepaon.

Full Item Description
The insides of the net’s mesh are smeared with the paste by Powi warriors wearing crude gloves of dried lizard hide. Absorbed by the texture of the jude fibre,it turns the fibre the color of its murky brown.

When the net is hurled at a foe,the paste present in its mesh reacts with the sweat of the foe’s skin and immediately turns into a sticky, cloying substance as thick as concrete. Within moments, the netted foe is bound by thick coils of solidified Ahal paste.

The Powi usually use the fighting net to trap and ensnare ferocious Black Cats, fearsome large felines that are often hunted for their prized ebony coats. Using the net to ensnare them allows the hunters to remain out of range of it’s rending claws. Neverthless, the net has also proven to be a potent weapon against soldiers armed with steel weapons who underestimate the threat posed to them by this humble net, only to find themselves unable to slash their way out moments after it falls over them.

Interesting concept that I like because it isn't magic. Curious about the interaction of sweat on a furred animal as well as armored men. Perhaps it is water activated then and somehow the victim needs to be "splashed" before hand?

Neat though!

It is activated by moisture, so in the case of animals that lack sweat glands or armored foes, dousing them with water, urine or pretty much anything moist would do the trick.I'm glad you like it. This is actually one of my first posts, something which you can probably tell from the fact that its really short as most subs on Strolen's go.

The Candle-Eyed Man

       By: Murometz

The third son of a candle-maker, and secretly a spy, Tsiao Fong Wei betrayed his family, clan, and town to the merciless Qongg Dynasty, causing the deaths of his own family members. He survived to an old age hiding out in the country side and keeping a low profile. One day however, the “Paper Knife” finally found Tsiao Fong Wei , and exacted his revenge on behalf of the folk, dead and tortured.

After a furious struggle, the “Paper Knife” plunged twin burning candles into the eyes of the traitorous old man and laughed, as Tsiao Fong Wei howled in dismay and pain. Some say Tsiao Fong Wei died that day. Others say that the old man somehow escaped despite his sudden anguish and utter blindness.

The truth is lost to time.

But to this day the children of the Red-Ridge County towns and villages are told by their parents to always beware twin lights in the darkness and to never venture into the woods at night, and to keep an ear open for the Groaning Ghost, for somewhere out there Tsiao Fong Wei the Traitor, now a vengeful spirit, stumbles about the darkness moaning and wailing, candles still sticking forth from out of his otherwise empty eye sockets. And though the candles plunged into his eyes all those years ago were a’flame going in, now the wax protuberances are somehow lit from within and burn without, and two flickering lights in the darkness, always portend his coming.
