The Shade of You

Freetext Friday "Shadow"

In the darkness you pass

pass through night and Moon

We were moths to our own flame

Leaving the Shade of You

You stalk

You haunt

You hunt

alway looking

looking for the moths and the flame

I see only the Shade of You

I left as well as for dead

I left like a childhood toy

Still you return

out of the corner of my eye

all that remains is the Shade of You

I am only voting because I'm not sure why I wouldn't. And I somehow find that I like this. It has given me an idea for a short side plotline in my story. A visceral idea of an oracle or wayward traveler speaking to a party member on a darkened rainy road.

I'm glad you were inspired! My inspiration for my recent poetry writing was the newish Adele song Hello, which brought home some sins of my past........

Not a bad bit of petty. I like the, uh, I think "cadence" is the word I'm looking for.

From an RPG idea perspective, I don't get too much out of it, thouh.

That should say "poetry", not "petty." Sorry.

Frozen in Time

       By: Spark

In a long-lost age, a party of adventurers are frozen into stone by the stare of some gorgon-like creature. An unscrupulous rogue, coming across the frozen party several centuries later, decides to haul off two of the statues to decorate his den. Upon his death, an artisan friend of his claims a statue and sells it to a rich merchant, passing it off as his own work. Years later, the merchant gilds the statue in bronze and re-sells it at a much higher price. After passing through the art markets for many decades, the statue ends up in the hallways of a mage academy. Imagine the chaos and confusion when a young mage's spell happens to break the curse of stone, returning the adventurer to life several centuries after his petrification! Is he interrogated by historians? Driven mad by the change of times? Or does he set off on a quest to find and liberate his other frozen party-members?
