Sword of The Righteous
A special sword handed down to only the worthy few men who possess the true nature of the Righteous Order.
Originally created in the dark times by the Great Wizard Zicharis to purge the world of the impending evil. This item now rests in the rib cage of a giant beast that the last owner had attempted to slay but unfortunately died also in the battle.
The Righteous Order was led by a Wizard named Zicharis and was a group of Good Wizards and Warriors who were becoming to fear the growing evil of their land. Thus the sword came into being.
When creating the Sword the Order created a set of guidelines that the Wielder must follow in order for the abilities to be unlocked to their full potential. These being that the Weilder must never:
-Kill an innocent creature
-Lie or cheat anyone(doing so would rid the weilder of any honor)
-Perform Evil Magic
The Wielder must:
-Be a kind person except under circumstances calling for battle.
-Follow any guidlines of a good person not mentioned before or anything added by the GM.
Magical Properties:
With use of this item the wielder would find it very much easier to hurt creatures that are Evil and shall also find that the Evil creature will be much more affected than any other type of creature.
When scoring a Critical hit on an Evil creature, roll a percentile chance for one of the four abilities.
1-10 Evil Being has soul taken away and is imprisoned on plane of Wielders choosing.
11-20 Evil Creature becomes apprentice to the weilder and is forced to do only good deeds at the weilder of the swords discretion, until released by the wielder as a good creature.
21-40 Forces Evil creature to experience all the pain it has caused to others.
41-99 No special abilities used.
All abilities requiring an ability save at discretion of GM.
Although unfortunately for the first character that manages to find the sword and pull it from the heart of the beast slain with it will find the curse that has been placed upon it.
After a period of time the sword will slowly become evil itself along with the character. This in cause will completely reverse the affects of the abilities upon all good characters.
Anyone who chooses to use this weapon on their game should seriously think about the problems it may cause before bringing it in.

I would like people to make comments because this is my first ever item and I would like some feed back as to what I could do to make it better.

Well in three out of four blows, this sword finishes the battle straight away.
Yesterday I had a discussion on epic moments in your game. Now a epic moment in your game is not only I killed the tarrasque or this realy bad, evil wizard, but a epic moment is also epic, since it took a lot of time.
With a weapon like this, you kill this kind of moment. The victim does not get killed instantly, but still, if your soul is gone, there is little fighting you are going to do, so the victim might as well end up dead....

I liked the back story and the basic premise of the weapon. I like the restrictions. The entry is thought out, visual, with strong hooks. Good bits.
That said, it is a bit powerful, as 'one hit' removes targets most of the time. Roll well, and the monster dies (soul trapped somewhere else). Roll another hit, and you get an evil monster followers who are forced to be good. (roll well a couple of times and you will have a menagerie of evil creatures). One hit, and the monster sits there in agony (and supposedly incapacitated) for a while (allowing for easy slayage). There is a chance that nothing will happen, so you will just need to hit it again 3/4s the time. It is really too powerful in most cases, as it provides instant slaying, huge number of followers, and easy killing most other ones.
If it was on a critical hit or special hit that the evil creature took one of the 'special hits', that would be better. Give the sword some minor magical pluses vs evil creatures and the special ability when a 'special hit' occurs and more people will find it useful.
Another option is to reduce the powerful effects to 5% chances. 01-05% soul, 6-10% minion, 11-15% Agony 16%+ nothing. That is quite powerful as well, but a bit more playable.

Thank you very much for the good feedback. I realized that after you said something MoonHunter about when scoring a critical hit, it was actually what I meant to say and then forgot. Thanks I am gonna work on this thing to make it better.
Also as per people say that the weapon was too powerful, the meaning of when it says only the select few people would be able to weild it is also meaning that a person would have to spend a long time improving on himself to be able to use it because if they are not good as per the restrictions and any other set out by the GM, it wont work for them. But it is mainly made to be able to punish the Evil creature for its wrongdoings.
But as I said, thanks for the feedback

Youll get a hang if it eventually, Dont worry...
But yeah the percentages are rather high and it would be nice if it had some kind of penalty as well, Such as: If someone in possesion of the sword does anything that can be considered Evil, they feel very guilty about it until they confront those that the wronged and fix the situation.
Overall I rather like the item but I doubt ill use it just because I wouldent want a PC to end up with it, my PCs get enough as it is.
...and is it just me or does it seem to be a recent trend to use names begining with the letter Z?
