My son, repent your dark ways of chaos. If given fully your soul will burn brightly in the sky and break free of the torment of your chosen calling. If you do not, I will be forced to send your tortured soul to Kasal for pennace. Make your choice, no? Then you Corrupted Spawn of Sethalis, may your soul be tormented forever in the burning hatered of your master.

- Michaud - 9th Order of the Devoted Path of Aduivo

The Followers of Aduivo also known as the Watchers of Life -

Adiuvo watches over the forests and all of nature over the world of Hewdamia and tries his best to keep it safe from the other Gods and their war and struggles. He watches over the tribes and creatures that call the world home. Like Xukthalas, he sees the mortals in the forest and the rest of the world as children and his responsibility to keep them safe. Adiuvo looks to the Derevo as the mortals he favors.

Adiuvo was raised a God after Kasal chosen him from the mortals to ascend to Godhood. He was a mortal who had sacrificed his life to the aid of others. He is kind and giving and cares not for the damage of war and battle. The intentional causing of harm is beyond his tenants and looked down upon. He does not condone useless violence, but can see where the protection of oneself and others can resort to pain and suffering. He is also known for his sense of honor. He is seeking to bring law and harmony to the world. He has vowed to cleanse the world of Sethalis and his evil creations that defy his own natural order of things. His followers are many and are all noble and virtuous.

Doctrine - The followers of Adiuvo tend to be protectors by nature. They will sometimes go out of their way to help someone who needs assistance of the most minor of sorts. They feel that they have been given the task by their God to protect those who cannot protect themselves. They are selfless and willing to do much for little in return.

Major Religious Centers -

Breakdown of the religious Order - While they do not seem well organized; it is because they all seem to be doing a different thing. But they are actually all having the same task, they just manage it differently. They are all protectors and have received a calling from Adiuvo to protect the world and its inhabitants. The balance between males and females tend to side toward the male aspect. Mostly the males tend to focus more toward the Devoted path, while the females have a major calling toward the Apostles path.

Apostles have given their life to roaming the world to tell others of Adiuvo’s greatness and warmth. They are the preachers; those who speak His word and let those that are unaware of His generosity know the real truth. They also tend to be the healers in local cities and villages. While not always miraculous in their ways, they are able to give health back to those who are not yet ready to venture to Kasal’s domain.

Devoted are those that Adiuvo has given authority to go out in the world and destroy anything that taints His world. They are the protectors of the land and those that are in it. Their main goal is to rid the world of Sethalis’s creatures and minions and to cleanse the world of its entire wrong doings.

Watchers are a very small group of followers that have been chosen to wait for the signs of the coming of the Battle. This battle will be between the moral people in the world, and those diabolic creatures spawned by Sethalis and His minions. This Battle is said to bring about the end of the world if not won by the followers of Adiuvo. It is unsure what the specifics are, when it is, or where this final Battle will be. But it is clearly written in their religious tomes that this will happen when certain signs are seen. The prophet that wrote the coming of the final battle was actually the first Watcher, as it was created after his death.

The Martyred God, A nice touch. I like the lack of Dogma demonstrated by Aduivo them being more practical than philosophical

A good different take on a nature deity. The defender of the green and all life is an strong statement for the church.

short, sweet, and full of solid info. I like the concept of the Watchers, awaiting the signs of the final battle.

Castoria, Land of Shattered Stars

       By: Veretrix

Castoria was once a thriving and prosperous nation, a rich trade center for the surrounding lands. This all changed when, on one fateful night nearly a century ago, the Mist of Eternity rolled in and surrounded the land, obscuring more of the outside world as days and nights passed.

By the time the Mist blocked out the sun, a new light shone during what was assumed to be daytime: The Starpoint Spire, a mysterious place atop Castoria's highest peak in the northern-central region. Some say that there is some sort of building atop the mountain shining the dim "sunlight" onto the land, but it is only ever too bright or too dark to fully make out any structure, not to mention the mountain's immense height.

Not a month after the Spire's light lit up, the stars fell. Flaming rocks and debris from far-flung edges of space plummeted downward onto the eastern region of Castoria. Once the shower subsided, a strange energy from within the fallen stars transformed the eastern lands in what are now known as The Voidwastes, a barren gray land littered with craters and strange alien creatures (these can vary, but I had Pathfinder's Akatas in mind).

To the south, strange mechanism of eldritch origin are again at work after aeons of rest in the Ruins of Kchuthngnl, an ancient city of non-human creation that is estimated by scholars to be no less that five millennia old.

To the west, the once peaceful and serene forest, now known as The Plagued Woods, has been experiencing corruptions of the wildlife and humanoids living there. Some humans have reported creatures that appear not unlike a halfling, except that they can open their mouths to massive proportions to swallow creatures the size of an ogre.

When adventurers and citizens alike try to make an escape from Castoria, they are never seen again, and it is utterly unknown whether they found hopeful sanctuary or agonizing death withing the Mist's depths.

What is unknown to all residents of Castoria is that all of these events occurred because of the actions of a secret but powerful cult loyal to the Elder Gods who call the space between the planes their abhorrent home. The cult still lives on, larger than ever, and their plan is for the alien horrors to incubate and thrive within the dome of mist that now envelops Castoria, so that when the Elder Gods return as the cult's prophecy foretells, they will have an army of blasphemous creation at their disposal that they will use to make war with and enslave the denizens of the Material Plane.
