Campfire Fuzz

Full Description
These small, luminescent creatures are a distant relative of the willowisp, little bits of orangish light that are attracted by the flames of a fire. When enough of them have gathered around a fire, the fire appears to take on a fuzzy indistinctness.

The Fuzz feeds off the warmth and light of the fire, re-radiating it to the world about it far more slowly than the fire would have. They are non-aggressive, and a Fuzzy fire can be used for everything a normal fire would be used for, though the fire will seem somewhat cooler from a distance. Should someone try to put something into or take something out of the fire, they will part to let them pass. Like other fey, they cannot bear the touch of cold iron, and will flitter away from such very quickly.

Additional Information
Nothing eats the Fuzz, and the Fuzz eat nothing but the warmth of the fire. They will congregate along common campsites, and will often invade homes, though few folk really mind them.

A nice diversion for the adventurers.... one night their campfire is oddly cold... they'll have a fit trying to figure out what's going on and it's all nothing!

since I've plagued my pcs with way to many will'o'wisps over the years, these little critters are just perfect for their next campfire! Very nice.

SImple and interesting. Not everything needs to eat the PCs I suppose!

This is cute. They remind me of fantasy lightning bugs. I can see these adding a lot of neat flavor to a camping scene. Thanks!

I have an idea for a Pyromancer NPC who might just happen to attract a few of these harmless fey who enjoy basking in the warmth of his fiery destruction.

It seemed like a great place to camp. The clearing was good sized and sheltered from the wind. The brook just a few feet away. There is a natural hallow to keep the horses.

Then the night came.

It was like it became a different place. The temperature dropped. The wind, which does not seem to disturb cloth, almost cuts through you like an arctic wind. No one can sleep, as the soft ground has turned hard. The horses are uneasy. The Bats are flying over and stopping in the trees.

And then there is the eyes. There are glowing eyes just inside the tree line watching your group. The mages and clerics can detect nothing, but there is still something there.

(yet there is nothing at all... The Darkness will do nothing unless the players do something to it. And even then it will all seem to be a conincidence.)

Of course, in the morning, it all becomes sweet and light.
