Blade of Redemption

A blade of unmatched power. It is desired by many a warrior, and yet, everyone it comes in contact with is destroyed by it.

This ancient blade was created in a time long forgotten. It was made to battle the fiercest of opponents and is even rumored to be able to cut the very gods. An ancient warrior once wielded in the name of his king, but when the battle was lost, the king killed the warriors family.  In a rage, the warrior took up his sword in vengeance and killed the king. Since then, everyone who has wielded the blade has met a terrible fate. It is believed that the soul of that ancient warrior is imprisoned in the blade, and trying to escape. As a result, those who hold it are filled with his terrible rage, and will wade into impossible odds in the name of vengeance.

Magical Properties:

The wielder of this sword is filled with an unsurmountable rage, and is driven into a bloodlust. The effect is as soon as the blade is drawn, and ends when it is sheathed.

Why is it called the blade of redemption? It seems unapplicable given what it does and its history.

Can we have a few more details on this. If this swords is that ancient, there should be more than one or two stories involving the blade. What does the blade look like. It if is a Godly Blade from a long time ago, it should look like nothing in current production, made of materials either no longer used or unknown to the modern age.

The basic bones of this could be quite good... but it needs explanation.

Remember the Gold Standard: If said item (character, setting) is not as well developed and described as an item (character/ setting) in a fantasy novel (excluding the horrid DnD novels), then the item is not yet done.

Trust me, meeting the gold standard is not that hard.

I guess I will hold my vote back to see if vlad does change it.

Cursed weapons are a staple of fantasy, especially berserker swords. It will not be easy to make an exceptional one.

The Forest of Throck:

Throck forest is divided into three parts: a region of twisted black magic, which is dark and hemmed in with the legions of sable pine. This is Spindel, and is occupied by the hideous Ettercaps and their spider-pets. The second area is the chaotic elfin-wood, where the druids work their wyrd magic amongst the oaks. The last part is Udnalor, the home of the gnomes. Finding themselves surrounded by these chaotic forces they dwell as quietly as possible beneath the surface. Their culture is a fascinating one to visit, and in the next few miscellaneous ideas, I shall examine the ways and customs of THE GNOMES OF UDNALOR, with a view to role-playing them.
