The Followers of Perteum - Watchers of Day -
Perteum keeps a constant vigil on the populace of Hewdamia and is constantly using them in his struggle for supreme rule over the skies. He is viewed as one of the rising suns in the sky. Perteum looks to the Keirn as the mortals that he favors the most. He is at constant odds with his brother Gotruis, and while members of each faith respect the other’s deity they respect each other accordingly and are often found concocting schemes to gain the others followers.
Perteum, like his brother, was one of the first Gods to be born. He is the other sun that rises in the sky next to his brother Gotruis. He is the greedy one of the two brothers, vying for power any way he can get it. Some see him as a God of War and Battles, while others just view him as being ambitious. At times mortals can feel his influence by the wars that rage on in his name. He is not diabolic or evil, he is just overly eager for power.
He is worshiped by most of those warriors in the world that do not know more of his intentions than just battle and glory. Others worship him because they feel that he is trying to shape the world into a better place by hammering out the weak individuals and replacing them with cleaner and tougher stock. He is very quick to anger and even quicker to laugh at a jest. He is impatient and always looking to increase his hold on the world so he can do with it as he chooses. He is seen as Chaos in the Universe and Hewdamia, the God of War, Pain, and Strife. It is unknown what His real intentions are, but some have their idea of what they think He wants. Whatever it really is, he never gives much information to His followers who he does not see as being worthy of His knowledge.
Doctrine - Most of Perteum’s followers are ambitious and greedy. Some follow him because of their own lust for battle, war, and power. The try to spread his word in the world, and they are not shy about using force to have their point seen.
Major Religious Centers -
Breakdown of the religious Order - The priesthood itself is small but organized, most followers just being worshipers. The divisions of the Three Covens (Apostles, Devoted, Watchers) are organized by how the believe. His followers are a mixture of male and female, with the balance shifting toward male all the time.
Apostles are a group of followers that view Him as being the God of War and Battle. The cry his name every time they engage the enemy. They pray to Him only when they wish to be favored in battle. They are not organized and have no leaders to speak of, they are just loosely formed into a group by the Devoted.
Devoted are the religious group of Perteum’s followers. They are the priesthood. These are the select few that gain power from their beliefs. The Devoted are the smallest group of his followers and the only one that is organized. They believe that they are to use their powers to shape the world into His liking.
Watchers are very small and reclusive. They are similar to Gotruis’s Watchers in that they sit back and record the happenings of the world, ready to put the final chapter in their history books, “...and then the world was finally in His image, the image of our God Perteum.†They can be any follower in his religion, fanatic or priest. Seldom does anyone choose this path in life.
