Special Equipment:
A wand that can blind targets at the same level or lower than him 2 times a day (A resistance roll is made). The blind condition lasts 1-5 turns.
A cloak made from shreds of yellow fabric sown together. The cloak can change the apearance of the wearer into that of a common traveler. If the cloak is damaged, the effect doesn't work untill it is repaired (The repair job doesn't have to be anything fancy... just a crude joining of the ripped fabric).
Appearance:
This moderately aged man has a full red beard and pale blue eyes. His smile is very inviting and he can be very comforting in tough times. Chosooth has very pale skin, frizzy red hair, a very bald head, long fingers, and rosey cheeks. He wears a large bear skin and several different kinds of hides. Underneath these hides and skins is a small, skinny man. He has a leather pouch and a horn around his shoulder. He strokes his beard alot and has a tendancy to tap his foot or engage in some other form of nervous activity. He is very quiet, but never is he reclusive. This, of course...is how he appears... how he actually is is a different story.
Background:
Nobody knows much about the history of this man. He's always been a frequenter of the tavern as long as anyone can remember. Others know Chosooth simply as another drinker among many drunkards. He has been known to tell stories and give travelers the information they need for several different adventures. He tells them he was once an adventurer as well. He says he has either heard about the adventures from others or he was forced to leave the adventure uncompleted. One thing they may notice, though, is that he tries awful hard to impose his adventure on people he thinks may be adventurers... with no cost (Which is strange for someone offering information on that kind of thing). What adventurers looking for the places he describes will find is a trap or some suprise attack by a very high level mage. When he kills the foolish wanderers, he takes what they have. People don't know what he does, and that's the way he likes to keep it. If anyone were to find out where he lived, they would be very rich and would find several different magical items. It would be wise just to do it when he isn't around, however.
Roleplaying Notes:
This man is very good at lying (he's been doing it for a long time). He can give detailed explainations for things right off of the top of his head without revealing the slightest hint that he is lying at all. If anyone were to find out about him, he would try to bribe them with a lot of money. After getting them into a secluded area, however, he would kill them. He is very greedy too, though, and would fall into the same kind of traps he sets for his victums without a second thought.

What's an Arkainist? Is that another way of spelling Arcanist?
Pretty much. Just like how 'magic' is sometimes spelled 'magick'. =) Arkainists are just offensive mages that use mana in it's rawest form. This character isn't that great I don't think... I'm in a rut. =P
