Amulet of Clean Scent
A magic amulet that removes the scent of whatever is wearing it.
Appearance:
The Amulet of Clean Scent is a porcelain tile roughly the size of the last joint of the thumb, worn on a chain or leather cord.
Usage:
The Amulet can be worn as a necklace, wrapped around a wrist or ankle. It must touch the wearer's skin to work, so it cant be put in a pocket, or worn over a garment. So long as the amulet is worn, the wearer has no scent or odor.
They cannot be tracked by scent hounds, or creatures that use their nose/olfactory sense to find and follow things.
Demi-humans and other creatures that have a strong sense of smell do not notice them, so this pairs well with spells of invisibility to sneak past goblins, sentient monsters, dragons, and the like.
Undead who hone in on the scent of the living do not notice them, rendering it no longer necessary to dress in corpse guts to sneak through a zombie horde.
If put on a corpse, the body will cease to smell, but will continue to decompose, but without the aid of carrion eater or insects, who are drawn by scent. This applies to zombies and other creatures with strong aromas.
If put on a creature or being that uses pheromones, their power will be completely negated.
