7 Changelings

1-The Scout

The Scout is just that, Capable of taking pony shape, human shape and any shape as long as it is no bigger nor smaller  then three feet tall, the scout searches for new love sources to either gather the love that leaks from a loving couple, or just report back to the hidden castle-hives of the Changelings with much needed information. Their chitin is relatively delicate and weapons can easily punch through it, so they avoid battle if possible. They have extra large love sacs for delivering the maximum amount back to the Hive to feed the others.

2-The Warrior

Built for fighting with thickened chitin as tough as plate armour, and up to six feet tall, the warrior can take any shape as long as it is no more nor less then six feet. These are the warrior caste, who not only defend the Hive but carry out kidnappings when someone is to be fanged, replaced, and taken back to the Hive and hung up in a cocoon to be drained of their love whilst they dream happy dreams in their slumber. Their poison fangs are more potent then most changelings, and the webbing that they produce is stickier too and stronger then the same thickness of steel.

3-The Worker

Someling has to do the hard work of digging tunnels and making new walls, and this is the job of the five foot tall worker cast, who can take any shape but go no bigger nor smaller then five feet tall. Their exoskeletons are weaker then the warrior caste but stronger than the scout caste, and they have large digging talons in their true shape that can even break through hard earth. A good Changeling Queen tells them often how good they are and gives them extra love rations.

4-The Spy

Built like a worker Changeling in his or her true shape but with weaker talons the Spy is capable of replacing guards and the like, but often assumes an identity of their own and basically gathers love and information like a sponge and gathers  the information needed for an Infiltrator to do his or her long term thing. They are six feet tall when fully grown and can take any shape that is no bigger nor smaller then that.

5-The Infiltrator 

When someone is fanged and dragged away it is an Infiltrator who takes his or her place. Able to take any shape as long as it is no bigger then seven feet nor smaller then three feet tall, the Infiltrator may have been planning for years on end for this mission. They either replace high ranking ruling officials who have a lot of power, and use their positions to subvert and influence policies to make it easier for changelings as a whole, or those who are deeply loved so they can bring a lot of love back to the Hive every now and then.

6-The Teacher 

Someling needs to look after the grubs and teach the growing changeling nymphs how to behave. After toilet training, the first things young changelings are taught is not to inform on others, and not to take love, even willingly given, that comes directly from another changeling. For changelings to eat the love that comes directly from other changelings is seen as like cannibalism for us, and is dreadful behaviour worthy of the Gjallarmen. The love that changelings need to sustain themselves must come from other races and must be gathered in secret, which is why changelings often kidnap one half of an existing romantic relationship and insert one of their disguised members into it. Teachers are the size of worker changelings with the same powers.

7-The Queen 

A Queen Changeling possesses the strongest magic and silk webbing of any changeling, lays the eggs that hatch into new changeling grubs, and rules her Hive, and is in charge of making sure all the members of it are properly fed with love and protected from their foes. Up to seven feet tall and able to grow or shrink by up to four feet, she has the same changing magic as other changelings, although she only rarely uses it to infiltrate with and when she does it is to replace a monarch or in modern times, a president or a prime minister, someone of great power.
