Thunderstone Door Trap

The ' Thunderstone Door Trap ', a nice mix of doors, traps, and Thunderstones!

The ' Thunderstone Door Trap ', can be commonly used in Dungeons that have Guardians or can be used to spark a sound activated trap. When the seemingly normal door is opened, Thunderstones are activated and make noise, this can attract monsters and / or activate a sound activated trap. If the trap is ejected it could activate a pressure plate trap, and it makes a lot of noise scaring any squemish adventurers. This single trap can activate a entire string of traps, making even the best adventurer run and possibly die. Best used in corridors or in areas that can project sound.

Update: Accidentally messed up a little,

Short, concise, complete. Not bad, but it feels rather bland. Maybe spice it up with specific examples of traps that use thunderstones and how the elements of the trap effect each other. You hint at ways it could be used, but that doesn't have the same feel as a detailed trap.

Out of the two door traps this one actually made me stop and think about it some. I actually do not like the way it is written, bland as Pieh stated. However the idea of the thunderstones themselves make me pause and give this a second thought. Describe the stones a bit, where they come from, how they are made or brought out.

Perhaps they are the tears of the Thunder God or his laughter in solid form. Give it something unique that would make people go hmmmm, interesting.

Thank you,

I like the idea of tears or laughter of a divine being, that was a plan, but I don't know how it didn't go through, I had a name and stuff for the divine being but didn't go through :/

I may add the item Thunderstones soon to explain what they are in a separate topic so this can stay on topic to the trap...

Not a bad idea, but oh boy does this need fleshing out... Actually, I´d suggest placing this as a McGuffin (aka plot device) in another, larger sub. Perhaps a dungeon?

But hey, welcome to the Citadel, friend. Nice to have ya!

maybe the thunderstone or the magical device that makes this really loud noise is what you need to write up and then you can go through and add varous uses for it like a thunderstone door trap.

Okay so I just saw that you wrote up thunderstones...

The Forest of Throck:

Throck forest is divided into three parts: a region of twisted black magic, which is dark and hemmed in with the legions of sable pine. This is Spindel, and is occupied by the hideous Ettercaps and their spider-pets. The second area is the chaotic elfin-wood, where the druids work their wyrd magic amongst the oaks. The last part is Udnalor, the home of the gnomes. Finding themselves surrounded by these chaotic forces they dwell as quietly as possible beneath the surface. Their culture is a fascinating one to visit, and in the next few miscellaneous ideas, I shall examine the ways and customs of THE GNOMES OF UDNALOR, with a view to role-playing them.
