Ossilyth

By:

Favored minion of the necromancer Warmaker, the Ossilyth is a tank of an undead.

The Ossilyth is a heavy-hitter among undead minions. Undead are normally valued for their cheap, disposable natures. However, occasionally one needs something a bit more substantial to crush ones opponents, and this is the exact purpose for which Warmaker began raising Ossilyth minions.

Standing a solid 2.5 meters in height, almost every inch of an Ossilyth is covered with hyperdense bone, magically gathered and compressed into a ridiculously strong armor plating. Arrows and swords will bounce right off, while war hammers and mauls will merely chip and scratch the surface.

No weapons were deemed necessary for these creatures; Warmaker relied on the sheer mass of their blows to deal damage. As such they have no hands, and in their place sit large bone-hammers.

The face is perhaps the most disturbing part of an Ossilyth: it has none. Where the face would be is just a blank mass of bone armor.

Fear the Gods

       By: manfred

Culture/Religion: based on fear and respect. Gods are very dangerous creatures, sometimes friendly, often not. Temples are the way to make contact with them... if not easier, then at least more concentrated in one place. Were it not for the temples, gods could be running amok among the people. Therefore, mortals have to keep the gods close to temples, entertained and worshipped. It doesn't make the bad ones any friendlier, though (and is no guarantee some won't go on trips now and then). Still, there have to be priests that are hardy men, able to survive the rigours of their position, get a sufficient number of worshippers to make the gods feel important enough, and mediate the contact between mortals and immortals.
