Nimz

By: Murometz

"I have already mentioned Tullian’s attempts—partially successful, he claimed—to nullify gravity. Gravity, as you know from your studies, is that force which imbues our bodies with weight. Tullian became convinced, that the gravity of a large mass—I dont see you taking notes, Dmitro—could be mitigated by a suitable arrangement of large currents and magnetic fluxes. Mitigated or reduced.

Secretive, ever shrouded in dense fog, unlike any other city in the Arch-Duchy, Nimz is the unofficial intellectual capital of Haracon, though its distant, cliff-drowned location precludes it from being a true center of culture.

Nimz is euphemistically dubbed the City of Clock Towers, though more importantly, it is a place of learning, where the continual study of the antediluvean races and their fleeting wisdoms has become an obsession over the years for its off-center citizenry.

A singular peculiarity in Nimz, is the fascination which the populace seems to have with the concept of Time and the end of the world. The Apocalypse and Nimz’ role in the end of days, ia a constant topic, perpetually part of the zeitgeist, and always on the mind of the philosophers, sages, tinkerers and clockmakers alike.

There are those as rich as kings but dress as peasants and worry not about funding. To visit their true homes one would see wealth of untold value scattered as dirt is in a hut. They know the monetary value of their possessions but they have long lost any true value to their owners. Experience is their currency and their curse. They dispense secrets of the ages as if discussing the weather. Few things have they not experienced so that very little gives them joy. They are the lost ones looking for new life while humoring the mortals around them.
