The Queen of the Dark Wood

By: valadaar

The Queen of the Dark wood has no name apart from that given to her by other races.  She has preceeded all of the pantheons of Neyathis, being one of the few powers remaining from the begining of the world.

Full Description

The few mortals who have ever seen the Queen of the Dark Wood describe her as a green haired elfin beauty of great height.  Blue eyes alive with fury look out on the world and her voice is the rustle of leaves blown by a hurricane.

Her true form, which no mortal has seen and survived to remember is a 10’ gourdlike plant with a roughly humanoid shape.  The base of the plant erupts into a mass of animated roots and where her shoulders would be, a bundle of strong, cruelly spike tendrils emerge. Her ‘head’ is similar to that of her children, resembling an upturned acorn with more vine-like tendrils cascading down in mockery of hair.

Additional Information
The Queen of the Dark wood has no name apart from that given to her by other races.  She has preceded all of the pantheons of Neyathis, being one of the few powers remaining from the beginning of the world.

None have chronicled her history before the coming of the gods of men.

As a stub, this is to be further developed. Eventually she shall metamorphosis into a full sub…

Representing a primal force of nature which wants to strangle and slay all humanity, to bury their works beneath the roots of trees and their bodies as fertilizer.

Update: It was a stub, but seemed inaccessable in that form.

An intriguing glimpse. I look forward to the completed sub. (Assuming it's still a possibility?)

A possible answer to what happens to spells when a mage dies. If the spell is strong enough, say and enchantment or other permenant effect, part of the mages spirit may become lodged in the magic. It may be a way for items to gain some kind of intelligence, but a mage who has knowledge of this fact would be very hesitant about enchanting anyone or thing. He might have other plans for his afterlife than counting the change in your bag of holding. Preists, I think, would have this sort of thing covered.
