Passing Thunder

By: Siren no Orakio

A simple iron staff, containing a small piece of the power of the Goddess of the Storm.

Full Item Description
Passing Thunder is a plain rough, iron staff, of no particular decoration or ornamentation. Yet strangely, it seems that Passing Thunder is never at rest, for it is eternally reverberating as if it had recently been struck.

History
It is questionable as to how the elf Andurasil came upon upon the fragment of metal, an ancient piece of shimmering steel. Yet even as he obtained it, it revealed itself to him as the most dangerous thing that he had ever held, and he knew that it must be locked away. Long and hard, he meditated about it, and he decided to seal the chaotic thing into the stablest of all the metals that he could find.

And he took up a bar of steel, and he began to fold it about the shard, and every time he struck the hot iron, it leapt and danced as if it was a thing alive, and it roared as if the thunder of the storm outside had been rolled into the iron itself.

Not every prophecy needs to be meaningful to effect a game. In the Lord Dunsany play, The Golden Doom, a child's scrawl has an entire kingdom struggling to puzzle out what sinister prophecy it portends.
