Hi, Brutus. Welcome to the citadel.

You've got a nice submission here. I like how you added in the part about a lack of prophecies. It keeps it nice and open-ended, which can be nice. Like Dozus has already said, though, it might be better with some sort of more specific plot, so players have something to build on.

I'd recommend splitting up the submission into paragraphs that all dwell on the same subject, like MoonHunter said. It makes submissions easier to read.

Also, I think the name "Azerath" might be very similar to one used in a video game (Warcraft III, or something). While it is perfectly exceptable to make derivative names out of place names in video games, it's sort of disliked here. It's not very creative, and it can get confusing and annoying if enough people do it. Personally, I suggest you make up a more unique name. Go to Comment

Just saying, having her have that needle that's automatically unfindable is a pretty bad idea. It's like playing favorites with imaginary characters. If you're running a game with other people and they find out that the needle is just always wherever they happened not to search, they won't be impressed. I think that you'd be better off saying that it's just very well hidden in her clothes, or just taking another step and making it a magical needle. Go to Comment

What they said.

("smaller chunks" with lots and lots of Maggotesque details in each!)

Interesting aside: I initially wanted to loathe the name "The Brave People", but it grew on me as I read the piece and I now find it perfect! Go to Comment

This is Grey on a remote terminal.
Just wanted to say that I quite like this, and although I may not be able to get QUITE as much cooperation out of my players, this definetly inspires me to try more. Go to Comment

Two of Pinker's research assistants are working on ways to make the effect switch off after three days of continuous use or project a warning to others that the ring bearer may be infectious. Go to Comment

While I do understand where you are coming from and I can appreciate your points, I must say that my DnD group is keeping the dream alive. Yes, we do have 1.5 players who think nothing of their characterization, but the other 3.5 of us nearly sacrifice making balanced characters in favor of making them more interesting and quirky (generally settling for underpowered). Anyway, I hope that other people see this and think more about concepts and think more about making a slightly retarded half-orc cleric dedicated to Pelor than a tricked out rogue made up purely of stats and skill points. suggested titles, slightly sexier than "the second encounter"

1. Second Time Around
2. Brothels and Betrayals
3. Second Chances
4. Brothel Blues

Ummm forgive me if I'm wrong but if the attempted kidnapping were a prank, isn't there a very realistic chance it could turn fatal, as the PCs proceed to kill the thugs with the intention of rescuing the girl? Isn't there a ridiculously high likely hood of that in fact? It seems like that sort of situation would be instantly suspicious, because given the propensity for Adventurers on the road to use "Crossbow Diplomacy" no one would pull such a high risk low reward prank. The Needy Dead

       By: Murometz

The PCs are hired by undead to rid their village community of an invasive necromancer.

As the PCs make their way, wherever they are going, they spot two zombies. The zombies approach but before the cleric can turn them, one starts throwing coins at the PCs while the other pleads with them, unable to pronounce the letters "L" and "H" due to some missing gums. "Peeth issen...no 'arm...coin...peeth issen!"

If the PCs don't slaughter the two zombies immediately, they will eventually come to learn that the two were chosen to find help by their brethren. The zombies want to hire the PCs to rid their community of an unwanted pest. An opportunistic necromancer.

Apparently, a small benign community of undead have taken residence in an abandoned village, living out their undeath as peacefully as the undead can. Recently, a malicious necromancer has invaded the village, and plans to enslave the entire populace with his malignant spells, raising a small army.

The PCs must battle the vile necromancer, even as he animates the very folks who hired the PCs in the first place, to slaughter them.
