This is a system of classification that admittedly I shamelessly copied from TES (The Elder Scrolls). It sorts traps and puzzles into four categories known in TES as The Four Tests. Examples of each that I made myself are included.
A graph theory based puzzle for a Shadowrun Setting.
An ornate longsword that is easy to use but also reminds the wielder of its use.
Demon hide Whips that will punish the wielder for injustices.
A magical one and a half handed longsword once wielded by an innocent child forced into the horrors of combat.
UPDATE: Fixed a few flaws to balance the weapon some more and filled a plot hole.
UPDATE: Decided to change the end of the story to have a more fitting reward for a war hero. But the tale still takes a tragic turn.
A certain type of demon cannot not be hit by ranged weapons or attacks. Attacks have to be made up close and personal for the damage to mean something. Ranged attacks are to impersonal.
Possibally a way to make the ranged attacks more meaningful would be to coat the arrow head or what not with the shooters blood. Of course, they'd better be a good shot, otherwise they're wasting arrows and already bleeding to boot.
Spells: wizards might have half or no effect, preist might work due to divine intention.
