Zaradee is a fine country town deep in the country, kind of in the middle of things, not too far from Caraguis. While not on the main routes, it is just a short detour from them. It is a town filled with nice provincial houses, surrounded by amber fields and tall corn. The next valley over, they make some very fine wine.
A few richer folk have country estates in the region, but none are closer to Zaradee than that of Scarabomantus, the Merchant from the Sands. He is here frequently. It is his favorite place to retreat to after a plot has been foiled. Here he experiments with his theories, of equality, justice and no class privileges without responsibilities. Though he is insanely rich by local standards, he lives only slightly better than the locals. He gives to the locals, allowing them to have better homes, more goods, and public works. The locals adore him and would do anything for him… including hiding him, lying for him, jumping those that would harm him, and ignoring the little irregularities that sometimes occur at the villa. He is the first speaker, the defacto leader for the area.
Caraguis is a nearby village. It is a small world after all. The Don there is the man who has foiled most of Scarabomantus’s plots to date.

Caraguis is an idylic little village, deep in the wine country. It is like the traveller was walked into a Maxwell Parish picture. It is on what was once a main road, but the newer road takes you to the important places quicker. Yet if you are taking in the beauty of the hills and valley or avoiding people on the main road, you will encounter Caraguis.
