West Borrough District

The ever present breeze from the water pushed the litter around constantly. The nice black cars and their sharp dressed occupants are sharp contrast to the broken people who live here. The Gloom comes from more than the lack of city lighting. And remember, nobody knowns nothing.

The West Borrough District is neither a borrough, nor in the west. It is named after the main stree that runs through it. It is west of Pyle St, the dividing street.

This area is a mix of old industrial and older housing. To say it is run down would be accurate. The ever present breeze from the water pushed the litter around constantly. Public lights are no longer lit, and the gloom comes from more than the shadows. The broken people hang about their bars, alleys, cheap rooms, and low end jobs. Nobody looks up because nobody wants to know what is going on.

You see, The Family, runs its operations out of the District. So here is where they meet, in and around their semi-legitimate operations. They even do a great deal of business in and around the district.

There are a few really nice places here, some clubs, a strip pit, restaurants, and hotel apartments. They are supported by the Family Men and their hangers on. "Nice People" don’t go to these places unless they are one step from being one of the Broken People.

On route from Geli to Nekrass the characters meet a peasant boy on the road. He's wandering in the direction from which they've just come. If this seems a little bit incongruous, they may wish to ask him a few questions. He's perfectly willing to talk: he's called Lamish and he's run away because he knows he is the heir to the throne of Geli and his parents didn't believe him. How far is his home? About five weeks walk from here. How much has he eaten? Nothing. Has he drunk? Only from the filthy roadside ditches. In short, it's a wonder he is still alive. And yet he seems perfectly healthy.

Is he a thief, waiting for travellers to trick? Is he lying because there's something more sinister under all of this? Is he telling the truth? And anyway, what should the characters do? Do you take him to Geli? Do you try to find his parents? Or leave him to make his own way?
