It is said among the Orcs that when their race was young, Urku, their creator, decapitated the sky demons and took the box in which they held the Sun so that his children could see. It is also said that as he was taking the Sun Box to show it to the Orcs, he tripped and the box smashed to pieces on the ground, releasing the Sun and blasting the Orcs with light, which is why they see poorly in the daylight.
—————————————————————
The Sun Box is a large rectangular box made of smooth, greenish stone. The stone is cracked and chipped as if it has been smashed and pieced together again. It’s short sides are carved with a bird-like face, and the long sides are carved with an image of a feathery-winged, headless being. The lid of the box is carved with an image of a flaming sun disc with a bird-like face inside (The same bird-like face as on the short sides). The insides of the box are scorched black and filled with powdery ash, as if something has been cremated inside. The box is heavy enough that two strong people must strain to carry it. For several centuries, it has been kept in a treasury of a small kingdom which looted it from an Orcish temple during a war.
Magical Properties:
If it is taken out under the open sky during the noon hour and opened, it instantly becomes night, and a blinding light fills the box. The light burns anything that touches it to ashes. If the box is closed and opened again, daylight returns. It was once used in Orcish religious rites in worship of Urku.

The PC would be working against the clock to recover the artifact before the damages caused became permanent (famine from the loss of crops, nocturnal animals having a dinstinct advantage and destroying the ecosystem, etc...)
If I could vote, I would give it 5/5, just for how urgent this item is if used with bad intentions.

I have to say that I also wonder about the "range" of the night... Will it be all across the globe and if so.....
Besides that, I can imagine that Orc's would realy, realy, realy, realy want this thing back. Which in turn would mean that any person foolish enough to use it and keep the box with him, would be hunted down by Orc's in the worst possible fashion...
