The Rite of Children is a beautiful service. The children practice their parts for a month under the tutalage of the local priests. Then they will sing, recite, and pray for their parents and the sults of the congregation.
The Rite has more to it than just being something to get the children involved in the service. The Rite of the Children and its preparations have some additional functions.
It is actually a test for the clergy. It will find those who have the appropriate knacks for clerical life.
If they are willing to participate determines those with some faith or at least the ability to stick with it.
Training their memory and speaking voice helps point out those who might do well as a priest.
The training for the ritual prayer helps determine who will have any "spell potential" anong the children, though that can’t be properly determined until they actually complete the rite.
More children have been "recruited" into The Church since it has added "The Rite" to the Religious Calander.
