The Flying Ocean

Overview

The Flying Ocean is just one of the examples of Kuramen’s strange dual nature; it seems to float above the powerful and inexplicable curve of the Sunken Sea, unsupported by any force known to the mortal races, but it is, in fact, held in place by the water in Far Kuramen, occupying the empty space between the Flying Ocean and the Sunken Sea.

Home to all kinds of strange creatures born of divergent evolution, getting to the Flying Ocean is difficult even for flying creatures; nearly two full miles of empty air separate it from contact with the rest of the world, such that only those who risk the danger of a Mage’s spells are able to reach it, and the island which hangs, sheer and smooth, on one side.
