This is intended mostly for a party that has worked against the designs of Taronia in the Dawn of Avarice.
Corleone XXIV, Emperor of Taronia, is a man who is accustomed to getting exactly what he wants, how he wants it, when he wants it. Of late, however, he has been frustrated, and his ministers tell him that it is, in no small part, due to a small band of adventurers, amongst whom is a woman (or perhaps a man!) who’s description causes the Emperor to stand up and take notice.
The Emperor has decided that he shall make this adventurer his pleasure slave, and his first step shall be to attempt the capture of the target, who will most likely be the most conventionally attractive member of the party. To this end, he will send his finest agents to capture the party member.
These agents should be highly competent indeed, and heroic efforts should be required for the party to escape their grasp. A high level rogue or assassin-esque template is suggested for the agents, and they should be well versed in the use of traps, trickery, and drugs. So too, they will use the lives of the ‘selected’ party member’s companions as a guarantee the chosen one’s behaviour.
An initial attempt will be made to simply persuade the character to submit to the Emperor’s will. Most likely, this will be quite charismatic, focused on just what the Emperor can do for the character. There will be many promises of luxuries. If this is rejected, the agent will simply walk off… and the kidnapping attempts will begin.
Very few of the kidnapping attempts will be of the ‘ambush the party and take them all’ type. Instead, agents will use subterfuge and trickery to isolate the target, and narcotics to subdue him or her and up to one or two partymates.
