Easily the most savage mer-race to ever stalk the seas of Acqua, the Shura are known for their prospenity towards lethal violence. Just like with the sharks they so revere,a wrong or inappropriate action can provoke a lethal reaction from a Shura. As the other mer-races are so fond of saying among themselves, the only thing more unpredictable than a shark is a Shura.
It comes as no surprise then to one knowledgable of the ways of these folk, that the Shura have developed a varied range of weapons, all of them seemingly designed to shred the un-armored flesh of a foe as viciously as possible. Perhaps the simplest of them all to fashion,is the Shura Fist Of Slaying.
It is a simple weapon, basically consisting of thick twines of kelp and sharp serrated bits of stone and coral. The twine is used to wrap the serrated bits of coral and stone around the fingers on the right hand of a Shura brave, tightly enough to prevent them from slipping off,but at the same time not so tight as to cut off blood flow. The wicked tips of the jagged coral and rock shards point forward as can be guessed.
When slammed into the face of a foe,the wounds inflicted can be grievous, especially dangerous to one’s vulnerable eyes. Many a Shura brave has blinded and then dispatched a foe with this secondary weapon in close melee combat where the classic trident is too cumbersome and tedious to use effectively. In these situations, the Fists can be a frightening weapon as some People of the Coral that have done battle with the Shura, will testify.
