An area known for its exceptional steel work. It is named after the main city in the region.

Rydlin could be anywhere. It is a place known for its exceptional steel work, and by extension, weapons. It is named after the main city in the region, the capital of weapon making for the known world.

It is here they make Rydlin Steel.

The area is fairly warm, with rolling hills, and loose cops (small stands of) trees. The metal mines are found in the higher hills. There is, currently, only one city in the region, Rydlin. There are a number of towns, each with their own knack or specialty (arrow heads -Pothri, daggers Kochlyn and Pith, armor- Armuar by the River, Kyladin does things non weapon, etc). In Rydlin proper, fine steel items of all types can be found.  The world beats a path to this region’s door.

You can change the name and the descriptions. This is the region of, and the explanation for, the existance of exceptional quality weapons. This is like Toledo and Toledo weapons in our world, but better.

Weapons or equipment that is heavily relied on can be "named". Then the equipment begins to gain abilities beyond those of normal equipment. They might siphon off some of the experiances of their owners (1 to 5%) and level up on thier own. Could be an unintenitional way of creating artifacts. Ships could become sturdier or seem to just barely outrun the worse of a storm that would have surely sunk another vessle, swords could fumble less or resist dulling more, a farmers plow could turn stones aside easier. Anything that is depended on as much as an inividual can depend on as much as another individual could be "named".
