Sphagina-Papahsa 'Matrosov' Light Power Armor Suit

A mainstay of the Eurasian Alliance military, the Matrosov light power armor is not much more than a glorified suit of SLAB Armor with a robust muscle tracer strength augmentation bodysuit under it. The Matrosov is cheap to produce and lacks integral weaponry, electronics beyond enhanced vision and commlink, and has a limited duration power pack. The unit also has standard infantry gauntlets, so the Matrosov is actually unable to use most medium and and heavy power armor weapons, and cannot use anything but the smallest powered melee weapons.

The Matrosov is typically issued to conscript battalions, criminal companies, and other groups of soldiers who are expected to fight, but not expected to win. This leads to low morale in Alliance light armored infantry units, as these units know they are basically fodder to slow down enemies, or operate as shields to protect more valuable units.

The standard equipment and armament for a Matrosov trooper is a shrapnel resistant tunic, belt of high explosive detonators, and a standard issue Raad 2S1 Heavy Rifle. The rifle is a ponderous weapon, and has a low rate of fire. It makes up for this by having a heavy round and the ability to fire multiple types of special ammunition, as well as having good range for a conventional rifle. Many Matrosov troopers find various other weapons, favoring smaller guns like infantry combat shotguns, submachine guns, and automatic pistols. Matrosovs configured for closer combat carry a progressive combat knife that is able to punch through up to medium armor at close range. These knives are throw away weapons and only have a 6 to 8 second power supply.

The Go?dzik Division is an infamous criminal unit stationed along the border with the Kingdoms of Scandinavia where it is regularly involved in skirmishes with the Kingdom's elite Avalanche special forces units. The Go?dzik troopers are configured for cold weather operations, and all units have combat knives issued. The Raad 2S1 is replaced with the newer TOPAZ laser rifle and the Pchela 22 'Honeybee' automatic coilgun. The unit is commonly used to flush out Avalanche infantry (suffering horrific losses in the process) where they can be fought and destroyed by other Alliance units.

Master Chief Ivan Zadin is the sort of soldier who is able to get men to willingly join the Matrosov armored infantry. He is large and imposing, and has a natural air of leadership and authority. His cadre of soldiers are all equipped with Matrosov armor suits and he leads and trains them not as light infantry but as special forces. They are not burdened by heavy gear and packs, and the Matrosov is a physically light and fast power armor. Soldiers can even power down the armor and carry it manually, and leave no EM trace for enemy snoops to pick up. Zadin's Medvedey Battalion has a list of accomplishments in combat that put even mecha units to shame. Zadin is known for charging into battle not with a rifle, but with a rare Alliance double bladed plasma sword, hacking through combat droids and enemy troopers with sickening ease.

Omsk Bronya Korporatsiya BV-1 'Bezmolvnaya Vesna'

The concept of the OmskBK (OBK) Bezmolvnaya Vesna heavy power armor is simple: Scorched Earth. There are large swaths of Alliance border that are wastelands, irradiated or contaminated with chemical and still festering biological weapons created and used in the Resource Wars. The original OBK-BV-0 hardsuit was designed and tested as a scientific research unit with search and rescue capability. This role was quickly supplanted by Alliance mobile armors such as the Gant Legged Tank, and dedicated recon and scientific mecha. The BV-0 wasn't done, though. It's impressive protection against atomic, biological and chemical weapons made it an ideal platform for testing and deploying some of the more exotic energy and arcanotech weapons the boffins in the Alliance military were creating.

The production BV-1 has reinforced armor plating and an enlarged power pack that has a modular multiple power cell design that allows for drained cells to be quickly discarded and replaced in a fast and efficient manner. The suit is a heavy armor and can easily heft standard power armor weapons, heavy power armor weapons, and powered melee weapons. The area where the heavy and expensive BV-1 shines is when it picks up high powered energy weapons such as plasma and MASER weapons, and exotic arcanotech gear. The signature weapon of the BV-1 is the large and intimidating Izlucheniye-Pushka 2. The IP2 is a high energy radiation projector 'cannon' and is functionally a death ray. This weapon is able to bypass SLAB armor, light and unarmored vehicle protection, and even non-shielded structures to deliver a quickly lethal dose of radiation. This weapon manifests penetrating burns, followed by quick liquification of internal organs and breakdown of blood cells. Death usually occurs in 3 to 5 minutes. Three to five agonizing melting minutes.

While the IP2 is the official standard weapon of OBK-BV-1, it is not the most common. Most BV-1s carry plasma cannons or large bore laser rifles. There are few versions of the power suit, but the BV-1C is configured for space operations, and has long term life support as well as a micro-fusion power cell that while expensive, is much more reliable than trying to swap out batteries in space.

The BV-1 sees regular use along the Persian Border, where the heavy firepower of the suit and its ABC protection is valuable in dealing with not just the conditions of the region, but facing the genetic mutations and random horrors that have survived storm breach containment efforts. The Mertvets Brigada is a unit equipped primarily with BV-1 power armors and supported by a small rotating cadre of armored walkers and armored vehicles. The unit patrols the wastelands that extend from the radioactive ruins of Tehran to the disease haunted rubble of Tel Aviv.

Joseph Zabroshenovitch is well known in the Eurasian Alliance, and not in a good way. A dissenter and terrorist, Zabroshenovitch served for years as part of the Chernobyl Division Fast Reaction Corps (Reakstiya Korpus Chernobyl or RKC) and routinely faced down mutants, cosmic horrors, and clone riots. He eventually had enough and in a fit of rage, activated his IP2 in the middle of the base he was stationed at. Several hundred men and clones were killed and several thousand more were sickened by radiation. Zabroshenovitch has since fled the Alliance and is believed to be working as a mercenary or bounty hunter out of the Caliphate of Yemen Arabia or the SAUR.

Omsk Bronya Korporatsiya BZ-1 'Besmert Zhelezo'

The BZ-1 is a rare and expensive personal combat armor produced in small numbers for the leadership of the Eurasian Alliance. The armor is permanently attached to the soldier either lucky or unlucky enough to be assigned it. The armor is made of the highest grade materials, including what is typically considered mecha or aerospace grade armor plating and top end electronics. Strength and mobility are increased in a disturbing and brutal manner. The limbs of the soldiers to wear the armor are removed, and cybernetic limbs are used instead. Once installed, the human being inside a BZ-1 is little more than a sack of organs and a head, with little muscle or bone mass remaining. It is common for BZ troopers to be volunteers who have lost several limbs or have sustained severe bodily harm, such as extensive paralysis or other conditions.

The suit is at a distance, similar to the much lower quality Matrosov armor system. Both are smaller designs, but the BZ is dramatically stronger and able to use almost any power armor weapon, ranging from conventional designs, to heavy weapons typically reserved for power armor support units, to exotic arcanotech and powered melee weapons. The most common uses of the BZ1 are special forces and bodyguard details of high profile members of the Alliance government. A few have found their way into the hands of criminals and bounty hunters and there are less than scrupulous copies of the BZ concept that can be bought in the ACPS, and other less than reputable locations.

Each BZ-1 unit is typically custom made, and given their relatively small numbers, there isn't a mass produced or standard issue set of equipment for the armor. Most units use multi-purpose combination rifles, sniper rifles, or a combination of powered melee weapons and high end pistols.

Otryad Istrebleniye Six is a special forces cell that operates out of Kiev and has a general field of operations that includes the Kingdom of Scandinavia and European front of the Atlantic Federation. This area is prone to high end combat between special forces of various powers, and OI6 is the Alliance ace. This squad consists of just shy a dozen troopers clad in customized BZ-1 suits. Their weapons and gear changes between missions and they are known for their sudden appearance and devastating ability in combat. Aside from conventional weapons, the entire team is well trained in hand to hand combat, sword fighting (with hyperedge blades of course), and a disturbing number have demonstrated parapsychic abilities.

Otet Teminy is an enigma to Alliance intelligence. The mercenary bounty hunter assassin appeared a few years ago, equipped with the best equipment, including a plasma whip and an arcanotech implosion rifle and quickly racked up several impressive high end targets. Otet is an obviously gifted parapsychic with aptitude in telekinesis, mind control, and demonstrated clairvoyance. Attempts to apprehend the dark figure end poorly for the forces employed, and the EA learned it was easier and cheaper to keep Otet on the payroll than to attempt to bring him in. The last job Otet completed involved giving the mercenary command over an Alliance warship, the EAS Garret, to hunt down several spies operating out of Neo-Anatolia and the Crimean in general.

Sphagina-Papahsa TT-80 'Molniya Bogatyr'

The TT-80 is the big brother to Sphagina-Papahsa's Matrosov, the Bogatyr is a heavy weapons support armor and has heavy armor, a robust power generator, and the ability to carry heavy weapons into battle. The most common weapon used on the Bogatyr is the Vyspyshka Kulak, a very dangerous arcanotech weapon. The VK blurs the line between melee and ranged weapon, and looks like little more than a steel globe mounted on the end of the suit's hand. The VK is a lightning generator, and throws arcs of lightning around on the battlefield. While not a very accurate weapon, it deals damage on par with plasma rifles and it doesn't fire in a straight line. Bogatyr troopers are feared for their ability to arc their bolts over and around barriers, and for their weapon's ability to almost magically hit targets. Snipers and recon units strongly dislike the Bogatyr because even if electronics or eyeballs cannot see a concealed scout or sniper, that unit is generating an EM field and that is more than enough to bring down the thunder.

Bogatyrs are more commonly armed with more conventional weaponry, with favorites being the Shershen missile system, the IS-300 infantry support cannon, and the Solnech quad laser. The Shershen is a shoulder carried system and fires a high velocity 100mm missile with a rapid reload system. The missile is a multi-use weapon, and can be fitted with specialized munitions. The IS-300 support cannon is a 75mm cannon that a trooper carries. The gun is functionally bolt action, and comes with a bipod system so the trooper can lay down, and use the legs of his battle suit to absorb the recoil of the gun.

The Bogatyr is a common and popular battle suit in the Eurasian Alliance and is on par with Federation designs like the HWPPAS.11 or the Weiji heavy armor suit of the ACPS. It is best known for its use of the Vyspyshka Kulak but despite the high visibility of this weapon, it is and has been much more effective as a conventional weapons platform. Outside of the Alliance military, the Bogatyr is a popular power armor suit on the world market (unarmed) and is a favorite of mercenaries and security contractors. It can easily be found and purchased in military venues, and is a mainstay of SAUR and USSA power armor units.

The Murometz battalion is an elite unit of Bogatyr equipped guards who have as their task protecting the Kremlin in the Moscow Megaplex, and the Premiere of the Eurasian Alliance when he travels. The battalion is equipped with the best gear, and their Bogatyr suits have things like jump packs, plasma rifles, and thermal lance melee weapons. The battalion has full mobility, ranging from their Prizrak hoverbikes to commandeering the service of an Alliance warship to function as their mobile base.

Ilya Pechorsky is the sort of soldier that the Eurasian Alliance would want to clone (haha, they did). He was an accomplished power armor trooper, and created many of the combat tactics used by the Alliance power armor corps. These tactics became the core for modern power armor tactics, copied by the Federation and other powers after they were punished by them. Pechorsky joined the military at a relatively old age, his early 30s. He entered the power armor corps as he wasn't strong enough to be a regular trooper and lacked the physique expected of regular power armor troopers. He lead by charisma in the retaking of New Kiev after the city was locked down by separatists, fought valiantly to close not one but 3 storm breaches. He declined an honorary position in New Kiev and went on to hunt down and destroy a Neo-Soviet Seibertronian who had stolen and 'infested' an Alliance stealth/recon mech. Now retired, Pechorsky is something of an iconoclast, with a fiery temper, and impatience for Religious incompetence and politics for the sake of politics.
