Brief bio of a space intel officer

My name is Rielle Miriellia Law. I hold the rank of Major in the Terran Interstellar Navy. I also have the honorary title of Captain as I am the commanding officer of a Terran starship, specifically the ISNS-265-80-155/90 Heona Barstowe. Horrible name for a ship, the previous commanding officer nicknamed the ship Boomerang. The name stuck, just like I did. Since then, the ship has hopped along to my rescue enough times that I've started calling it the Rabbit. Heona Barstowe is now the Boomerang Rabbit. It is my mission to explore the outer fringe of colonies for alien influence, anti-Terran factions, and technological booms. Its a boring job, a dangerous one, done undercover, without recognition of the government. I am a freebooter by cover, my ship is frequently for hire. I get what I need, and not much else. Its more than most humans can hope for.

Appearance:

Rielle Law is a woman of average height and weight with long dark brown hair. Her heritage is hard to discern as her skin complexion is pale, but her eyes have an elongated almond shape pointing to asian parentage. Her years as a freebooter have erased the traces of Earth from both her appearance and her accent. She is athletic and lean from regular exercise, a requirement in low-G and zero-G enviroments, and also from frequent food rationing. Her hair is rarely ever out of a pony tail or braid, and she doesn't own a dress, make-up, or many of the other accoutrements that are commonly associated with attractive women.

For clothing, the Major usually wears starship fatigues, either sandy brown or black in color. Both sets are festooned with pockets, buckles, and zippers. Her closet has an assortment of basic clothing, the sort that would reasonably be worn by a low income settler, explorer, other otherwise working class person. Most of this also tends towards either brown or black in color. She also has a fully functional set of Terran Light Combat Armor, a suit of synthetic material that has impact resistant plates and is covered with an ablative coating. The suit is seldom worn save for actual combat operations.

Law has several common accesories. She has an archaic necklace of a long dated and deceased iconic religion, this is almost never off of her person. She also has a data slate that she keeps in a close pocket, and a comm link device that she can easily hide on her person if need be. Finally, she has a hold out laser pistol in a shoulder holster.

You've got a really solid start here -- I especially liked the intro in her own "voice".  I'd want a bit more before popping her into a game, though.  Adding in some motivations and a brief personality outline, for example, would help.

THE GNOMES OF UDNALOR: Part II

Having left the hush of the upper halls, and crossed the depths of the Braeth (an underground river, which is not all that deep because bear in mind we're talking about gnomes here), you would find yourself in Wattling Street, the main road through Udnalor. It's actually a long, well-worn passageway which opens out eventually into the City Centre. The gnome-buildings branch off Wattling Street as small burrows or caverns with boulder-blocked doorways for privacy. You can find armourers and smiths (though their armour tends to be on the small side for humans to buy) and many other types of trader.

There are many streets, ginnels and cooies which run off Wattling Street, the most famous probably being Smell Street, the domain of the infamous gnomish alchemists, the eponymous smell being very distinctive: the stench of cooking fungus, the aroma of subterranean spices, the pungent reek of rotting carcasses (used in some of the more notorious experiments). An encounter with an alchemist can really be spiced up (excuse the pun) if you have a well-stocked herb cupboard, and actually make up the potions, elixirs and draughts as they are ordered by characters.
