Knife of Meat-Loving

By:

A well crafted but otherwise ordinary steak knife. It makes the cutting of meat sooooooo easy.

Full Item Description
A well crafted but otherwise ordinary steak knife.

History
It was forged by a bored demon that wondered what would happen if mortals were cursed with the craving his kind have for the bloody flesh of all things.

Magic/Cursed Properties
Anyone who uses this knife to carve up his meat, slowly finds himself obsessed with the different kinds of meat that one can eat.Why stop with boring things like chicken, beef, and fish, the mind of the cursed one will tell him, urging him to try eating the flesh of about every living thing there is. Soon,it will reach a point where that so annoying pet of one’s wife mysteriously vanishes. Two birds killed with one stone,no? No more harpy of a wife to nag you and a delicious dish made from a totally new kind of meat to feed your craving for meat.

Note:Process only begins if the knife is used on flesh. Otherwise,it is just an ordinary knife.

Simple, but fun idea. If I were to use this I think I'd give the knife "intelligence" so it would try to get used. It gets lost (like the ring of power in tolkien) and found so it can make the rounds, killing all pets. Or maybe the user kills his/her spouse and is put in jail. The knife is found by someone else. The PCs come in to town and find a mystery where families keep having their pets killed first and then their family members. Why is this happening? A nice little mystery ... the whole adventure could involve never fighting anyone perhaps.

Fun!

Pets are gone, spouse is gone, finishing up what is left of the neighbor and he eyeballs his own forearm. Hmmmm!? Why have a forearm when you can have a thigh?

No problem at all with the shortness. Must have forgotten to vote on this good piece... okay, a bad, bad, bad piece!

I still love this Meat-Loving Knife! A great example of a short, but stimulating sub! A fully formed, original, and harrowing concept.

timed out damn it

Sessiliths

       By: Murometz

Sessiliths (name based on the word sessile) are gargoyle-type creatures which are stationary, attached to the stone of whichever foundation they are bound to. Though they can move their extremities and limbs they are unable to move away from their particular perch. In lieu of swooping down and attacking like their mobile cousins the gargoyles proper, sessiliths are equipped with their own brand of mischief. The creatures are all able to verbalize and thus usually hurl vile insults and curses upon passersby. The cumulative effects of dozens of sessiliths cursing, screaming, and speaking in tongues, can have an effect of temporary confusion (or even discord) in those forced to listen to the shrieking stone gremlins.

Additionally, most possess the ability to "spout" or spit forth various undesirable projections, such as tar, boiling water, or even acid. While they can usually be avoided easily enough or even destroyed (their "bodies" feature the same defenses as gargoyles), sessiliths are usually placed in such a way as to hinder all trespassers and interlopers, narrow corridors, claustrophobic tunnels and other related "gauntlets", where they cannot be easily avoided. Like gargoyles, sessiliths come in all sorts of grotesque shapes and sizes, though they tend to resemble tiny horned devils, demonic amphibians, or simply distorted faces and heads, more often than not.
