Key of Returning
By: Harvengure

There are those magic users in the world who will go to great lengths to keep their secrets locked away from the wordl.  There are also those magic users in the world who are always losing their keys.  Well, one such magic user couldn’t believe he didn’t think of this key sooner.

Full Item Description
It appears to be a normal key with the exception of tiny runes scribed down the one side of it.

History
History?  Isn’t it obvious?  A mage somewhere got tired of losing his keys and thusly enchanted his to return to him whenever he lost them.  Seems the idea has caught on.

Magic/Cursed Properties
The owner of the key simply has to speak a command word while holding his or her open palm and it will appear there.  The key will not do this if broken, on a different plane, made incorporeal or altered in such a way that the ruins are distorted or destroyed.

I could use a set of keys like this, but I think I would put the enchantment on the keychain itself. Spartan in it's execution, the idea is sound.

It is okay, but not special in any way.

A decent post, but more could be done with the idea.

What keeps someone else from learning the command word and summoning the keys? Do they need to be kept for a certain length of time (to "attune" to the owner, perhaps) before they will work?

It is awfully short. A sound idea but with very little real use, it might be interesting if you could also summon things, or people, that are in the general area.

A nice idea, but too short. 3/5

There is a person who has a well-known reputation, probably involving something illegal. But this person is either very clever and crafty, or really like his or her privacy, for no one knows who this person actually is. As an added twist, perhaps this person is of an age that would noramlly be wildly inappropriate (say, a child is a much-feared bandit) or maybe not the expected gender or even race.
