Hammet's Guitar

By:

An instrument that that transmits feelings.

Full Item Description
Hammet’s Guitar has a v-shaped head, a long neck, and a diamond shaped body. It is colored red and white.

History
Hammet’s Guitar was created by Kurt Hammet. But, to know the guitar you have to know Kurt. Kurt was a timid child born in a huge city town. He didn’t have many friends, and was picked on at a young age. His family would ignore him, as he was the youngest out of seven, and if he tried to talk he would be spoken over. This treatment led him to believe that he had to prove himself to his family, and to those he knew.

So, he took up the guitar, a strange new instrument that had been out for only a few years. Without a teacher he learned to play himself. Day after day he dedicated himself to developing the right chords, correct positions, and scales. Whenever a travelling bard, or guitarist came along he would ask for lessons, and practice them daily. His family became a bit worried when he started carrying it wherever he went. Then, about a year after he first picked up his guitar, he learned his first song.

To celebrate he went to work on the making of a new guitar. He drew up models of what it would look like. He thought of this guitar as changing his life, making him an individual, so he wanted his new guitar to be as unique as he could make it. After he settled on an idea of what it would look like he started to work on it.

He spent months of failures to create his new guitar. He became obsessed, skipping meals and contact with anyone just to finish a small detail. He poured all his feelings into it, anger, sadness, joy. When he finally completed his work he played for his friends. He played a slow and sad tune, and noticed how they became utterly depressed after he had played. He ignored it as over enthusism.

As Kurt got better he noticed that people changed moods after he played his songs. A happy song would cheer the entire room up, a sad song would make them weep, and a beautiful song made women swoon. He tested the effect out numerous times, and realized what power he had. He was able to get out of trouble by playing a cheerful, and often forgiving, tune. Make the most beautiful women fall to their knees, and torture others with a sad tune.

Then he discovered the most amazing thing of all. At the age 17 Kurt did something no other musician of his time had done. He wrote a song about what he believed, not about an old heroic battle, forgotten treasure deep in the woods, or a maiden in distress. He saw that people agreed with him, and acted differently due to his song. They seemed to of instantly changed after his words. Unfortunately, not all were affected by the words he sang. It seemed that intellectuals were above his influence, and he couldn’t give commands.

Still, Kurt went over the world, spreading his thoughts into the minds of the people. He radically changed the way people looked at music. Others took up his example, and played what they thought. Some even formed groups, or ‘bands’. For years he travelled with other great musicians, on ‘tours’. After becoming an icon he retired and settled down with a family. Years later he died, passing his legendary guitar to his son. Unfortunately he was ambushed and killed. The guitar was stolen and has been seen around the globe in the hands of musicians, and collectors alike.

Magic/Cursed Properties
Hammet’s guitar can be used to persuade people, or anger them, even enchant them. The guitar cannot control people as robots however, although you can give them ideas as to considering a certain goal. EX: A lord has a key to unlock the doors to Durhan, but he is unwilling to give it up because he has a huge headache. Play a soft mellow tune to ease his pain.

P.S~ I named Kurt Hammet after two of my favorite guitarists, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Kirk Hammet of Metallica.

Could you write up Kurt, as he is intricately tied to this item. It is actually better if you delete his destiny and set things up so people can "insert him" into their campaigns.

Also, if said "The guitar was stolen and said to be lost forever." then this is not an item, it is a legend.

Mining in a certain area turns all exposed skin (maybe just parts that are actively disturbing the chemicals that cause the reaction) of the those doing the mining to a dark blue color. Will wear off taking as many years/days spent in the mine.
