Giants of Stoneholt

By:

The Ky’iish are greatly advanced in the arts of magic and created many strange and powerful materials and items. Some of their weapons were the most formidible artifacts found on Neyathis, dwarfing both physically and magically virtually all the works of man.

Full Description

Of all of Humanity, only the Rephatians have seen the Giants of Stoneholt, and they were fleeing them as they drove them from thier homeland.

As adults, they appear as massive humanoid reptiles averaging 18’ in height and weighing several tons. They wear either armor made from odd metals or long robes of stange design. Their eyes are large, mauve and slitted horisontally, and are forward-facing and deeply recessed into their sockets. They have a short muzzle and have many different sized teeth.

Their legs and forearms are similar in size and very powerful and have large, heavy tail to balance them out.

They have fine scales for a creature their size, being generally less then an inch wide.

Additional Information

The Giants are known in their own tounge as the Ky’iish, and currently have left the World Of Nyathis, or at least the known portion of the world. They left abruptly, shortly after driving the Rephatians from their homeland and into the current continent of Rephatia.

The Ky’iish are greatly advanced in the arts of magic and created many strange and powerful materials and items. Some of their weapons were the most formidible artifacts found on Neyathis, dwarfing both physically and magically virtually all the works of man.

The Giants built only one permenant settlement, the vast stone metropolis known simply as Stoneholt. No where else did they erect permenant stuctures of any form, though the reasons for this appear to be lost to time. Some theorize that due to their highly resiliant physical nature, they had little need for ‘homes’. This is part of the story, they actually have incredible regard for the natural world and to reduce their footprint of the world, chose a single place given to them by their diety where they could build as desired. This view has made them hostile to Humanity and similiar races, which led to their attack on the ancestors of the Rephatians.

The other part of the story is that The Caretakers of Stoneholt systematically removed all other Giant settlements with the same dicipline as they use when maintaining Stoneholt.

Frozen in Time

       By: Spark

In a long-lost age, a party of adventurers are frozen into stone by the stare of some gorgon-like creature. An unscrupulous rogue, coming across the frozen party several centuries later, decides to haul off two of the statues to decorate his den. Upon his death, an artisan friend of his claims a statue and sells it to a rich merchant, passing it off as his own work. Years later, the merchant gilds the statue in bronze and re-sells it at a much higher price. After passing through the art markets for many decades, the statue ends up in the hallways of a mage academy. Imagine the chaos and confusion when a young mage's spell happens to break the curse of stone, returning the adventurer to life several centuries after his petrification! Is he interrogated by historians? Driven mad by the change of times? Or does he set off on a quest to find and liberate his other frozen party-members?
